Crap Kraft Dinner Lyrics
All the people i love are here
all the people that i love can't hear
all the people i love are drunk
all the people that i love are here
all the people i love are here
all the people that i love come here
all the people i love are drunk
all the people that i think i am are drunk
all you have left is one kraft dinner
that i brought back for you last summer
all you have left is one reminder
of the time we spent when i spent
all you can taste is that one kraft dinner
that i prepared when your chances were slimmer
all you can hear is my refusal
cos i haven't got the time for a jerk-off loser
all you can hear is my refusal
cos i haven't got the time for a jack-your-body loser
all you can hear is my refusal
cos i haven't got the time for a jerk-off loser
all you can hear is my refusal
cos i haven't got the time for a jerk-off loser
no no no no, no more space or time
for last supper, baby baby
even if you prepare mine
and for...
i have not got the time, got the time, the time, the time
all the people that i love can't hear
all the people i love are drunk
all the people that i love are here
all the people i love are here
all the people that i love come here
all the people i love are drunk
all the people that i think i am are drunk
that i brought back for you last summer
all you have left is one reminder
of the time we spent when i spent
all you can taste is that one kraft dinner

all you can hear is my refusal

no no no no, no more space or time

i have not got the time, got the time, the time, the time

Great song :)
I think it's saying in the first part that even though he's with his "loved ones", he feels out of place. He's expecting more but is coming to the realization that they "can't hear", and are drunks. When he says "all the people i think i am are drunks", he's acknowledging that he used to be like them because they were together, but he realizes how they don't relate because of some differences that blatantly distinguish them (alcoholism).
In the second part he refers more to one individual that was within this group. He used to have some kind of relationship with this girl i'm assuming. Even back then though, he never gave enough attention to her because he didn't love her enough, hence, he served her kraft dinner. She's a loser now, and was a loser then, which is why he "refused" her love. In the end he is not with her anymore, so now, as she eats kraft dinner, she is reminded of her past and thus reflects on that "one reminder".
Separation, and the pain because of it. He's satisfied because he's out of the mess, but now she's left to mourn in her own doings (being a jerk-off loser).
Great line of thoughts, but what if it's not actual alcoholism that's affecting them? What if it's just their thoughts in the wrong direction, their escape from what's going on in the real world. Think of it as a mental barrier rather than a physical one if you will. The fact that they would not try and understand someone else's mindset and are just too lost in their own head. And he is indeed acknowledging that he used to be like them since sometimes we all get carried away more or less. And looking back on who we used to...

And he is indeed acknowledging that he used to be like them since sometimes we all get carried away more or less. And looking back on who we used to be we tend to find our faults and smile when we realize our mistakes or how silly we were. Just another concept you can think on. Or perhaps you're right and they are indeed drunk, not able or willing to listen to his problems.
Sorry for my simplistic English but then again it's my secondary language :)
i love this song
i do love the hot trumpets towards the end of this song, soo sensual. '*TUNE'
it's a nice, sad and minimalistic song
"it's a nice, sad and minimalistic song "
Minimalistic is the perfect word, not only for the song, but for the artist as well. Their music is so delicate and sweet. :]
I think it's about an alcoholic family member or lover. The singer has pitty for them, but is washing their hands of them.
lboogy, your speculation seems spot on to me. This song is too great.
i think it has to do with growing up in an alcoholic family, and having to cope with incoherent loved ones when it comes to dinner parties and other various get togethers.
the second half, however, leads you to believe that there is one particular person that is unable to care for themselves, and disabled by the consummation of alcohol. and that is where the: "all you have left is one kraft dinner that i brought back for you last summer"
also, the use of "baby" makes you think that it is someone intimate, possibly a lover.
all in all, i think the meaning is ultimately the struggle against devil that is alcohol, and its control over relationships with others.
