This song is about a guy whose girlfriend lives very far away. He needs her sooo very badly but cannot be with her due to the distance. He knows she feels this way too. So her calls her and tells her she can leave him if she so desires, but he really wants to continue the relationship.
Verse 1: The guy lives in Cali, far away from his lover. He dreams about this problem coming to an end. But when he wakes up, everything is fine, she deals with the fact that he isn't there.
Chorus: He's calling to tell her it's ok if she wants to leave him. He doesn't want to do that but he thinks he needs to give her the offer. In the end of the chorus, he gives her the option to leave but he really wishes she would stay with him still.
Verse 2: He's been writing her letters to keep in touch with her. The letters never make up for the fact that he's not there though. He needs her touch, he needs to be with her.
