Hump de Bump Lyrics

40 detectives this week
40 detectives strong
Takin' a stroll down Love Street
Strollin' is that so wrong
Can I get my co-defendant

Hump de bump doop bodu
Bump de hump doop bop
Hump de bump doop bodu

Bump de hump doop bodu
Hump de bump doop bodu
Bump de hump doop bodu

Bump bump

Listen to me what i said
Try to get it through your head
A little bit of Circumstance
A chance to make out

Livin' in a citadel
It's hard enough to be yourself
Waiting for the bell to toll
And I am wide awake now

Workin' the beat as we speak
Working the belle du monde
Believe in the havoc we wreak
Believin', is that so wrong
Can I get my co-dependent

Must have been a hundred miles
And of a hundred styles
It's not about the smile you wear
But the way we make out

When I was another loner
Nothin' but a two beach comber
Anybody seen the sky?
I'm wide awake now

I think that this song has two do with two people (guy and girls) trying to get away from everyone else to Hump De Bump.

"40 dectives this week 40 dectives strong Takin' a stroll down Love Street Strollin' is that so wrong Can I get my co-defendant"

I think that the 40 detectives represents everyone watching what the couple does, when all they are trying to do is "stroll down Love street."

"Livin' in a citadel It's hard enough to be yourself Waiting for the bell to toll And I am wide awake now"

this part means that they live in a closely monitered area where they can't get away and they can't be themselves (flirty, sexy, horny). But then the opportunity comes along to get away, and they are "wide awake now," or ready to get it on.

"Must have been a hundred miles And of a hundred styles It's not about the smile you wear But the way we make out"

The hundred miles is a metaphor for a long period of time and many different ways that they have tried to get away. and it is not about how you look, but how how you love.

right lyrics wierd order, after the hump de bumps it goes:

-must have been->wide awake now, -workin the beat -> co dependant -bump de humps -must have been->wide awake now -bump de humps

then carry on.

great song... i think the meaning may be more, i think it may be about like the way they toured and that, when they were younger, not sure though...

I love the horns and drums. This totally could have been off of Freaky Styles, UMPP, RHCP, or Mother's Milk.
