i agree. the video doesn't have to be taken too literally. the song is about a girl who feels trapped. in the video she is trapped by her illness, but the song can be interpreted in different ways. i too believe it's about a girl who married a man she doesn't love an is unhappy.

This song is so freakin sad once you see the video and truly understand what its about. It turns out the girl actually has some bad disease that causes her to be bed ridden. The song is describing the effects of the illness on her.

I love the baseline, violin and drums. I believe Polonaise is a Polish dance. Its amazing how midlake can have such despondent lyrics but maintain such beauty and old fashioned ideals.
I always thought it was about a girl who just married too young and too spontaneously. Honestly, I think the song can be interpreted in many different ways despite the music video.
