Storm in a Teacup Lyrics

Come on come on baby
Let me show you what I'm talkin' about

You try to be a lady
But you're walkin' like a sour kraut

Looka looka lika lika
Like you want to get some

If you never tell a lie
Then you never have to play dumb

Dirty baby time you're gonna take some
Pretty baby love you're some
Little lady hearts you're gonna break some
Kinda shady tears you're gonna fake some

Dirty baby we've got a situation
Pretty baby open invitation
Little lady what a reputation
Kinda shady now you're gonna make again

I know you can straddle
The atmosphere
A tiny storm in your teacup girl
I know you can battle the
Masses, dear
A tiny storm in your teacup girl

Every other day you say
You're gonna have to bury em

Famous last words
Spoken from the laserium

Descendents had a record
Sayin' somethin' 'bout Milo

You can take the a train
But you're gonna have to lie low

I know you can straddle
The atmosphere
A tiny storm in your teacup girl
I know you can battle the
Masses, dear
A tiny storm in your teacup girl

Dirty baby time you're gonna take some
Pretty baby love you're some
Little lady hearts you're gonna break some
Kinda shady tears you're gonna fake some

Dirty baby we've got a situation
Pretty baby open invitation
Little lady what a reputation
Kinda shady now you're gonna make again

I know you can straddle
The atmosphere
A tiny storm in your teacup girl
I know you can battle the
Masses, dear
A tiny storm in your teacup girl

I always had this goofy idea that the lyric "storm in a teacup" was a reference to the female orgasm. There is some semi sexual imagery in the song, and it makes Anthony Kiedis' "Heavens to Murgatroid" commentary funnier if you imagine him as a vaginal foreman of sorts in the moments just prior to orgasm.

@Odysseus24601 - I love it! LMAO and I will never hear the song the same again.

by the way, anyone can tell me wut anthony sings at the beggining of the song (before come on come on baby) and at minute 1:30???

Cover art for Storm in a Teacup lyrics by Red Hot Chili Peppers

at the beginning: "oh good god in heaven almighty, somethin somethin we've got a cataclysmic situation developing, somebody get down here now!"cant quite make out the beginning of the second line at 1:30: "oh god, oh no, oh no, it's getting worse, worse by the minute, uh-uh-uh we're down here at the vision in mystery?(wth?), somebody send for back up right now!"ya, um, im pretty sure part of thats wrong... well, this might be my favorite song on stadium arcadium, and it does sound like ak's the one doing the talking parts since it sounds like his speaking voice, which is much different than his singing voice.but idk maybe not. anyone who wants to make corrections on that please feel free

@lnkndarkness I think it's "division and 5th street" like the scene of a crime

oh, and "you try to be a lady but you're walkin' like a sour kraut" is the best nonsense lyric on all of stadium arcadium.

At 1:30, it sounds like he is saying "We're down here at something (division?) and 5th street", like a street intersection, instead of "We're down here at the vision in mystery"

However, I'm wondering what is said in between the lines of the verses. It sounds sort of like "Whoopty whoop, to get you gotta ____(something...)" Anyone have any ideas?

And the opening part I believe goes like this... "Oh good God in heaven almighty, heavens to murder Troy, we've got a cataclysmic situation developing, somebody get down here now!"

maybe "Heaven's to Murgatroyde" - didn't huckleberry hound used to say tht ?!?!
