Rosalie Lyrics

She’s quite a mediator
A smoother operator you will never see
Said see you later
You know one day I disobeyed her openly

She knows music
I know music too, you see
She’s got the power
The teen queen, rosalie

She’s got the pleasure
Comes from all the cornerstones of the world
She’s so fantastic
She’s everybody’s favorite little record girl

She knows music
I know music too, you see
She’s got the power
I got the power, rosalie

Down on me, rosalie
Shine on me will you please

Well chattanooga, lacooda, baooga loosa
You can hear her fine
She makes the choices
Then you’d best be smiling when it’s losing time

She knows music
I know music too, you see
She’s got the power
She is a tower, rosalie

This song is deadly, real classic rock'n'roll! I think it is about how much he likes this Girl called Rosalie and how she has a lot in common with him. I haven't heard the original Bob Segar one, but this song is class live!!

They covered this song because they had just gotten off a tour with Bob Segar and they were frustrated that he never played this song live, so they decided to do it themselves.

I always thought it was about someone in radio - thus the references to the "tower," "favorite little record girl," you can "hear her fine" and she "makes the choices" - et cetera. Perhaps "Shine on me will you please" is a plea to play the singer's records on the air. :)

I've never heard the original, but it would be tough to get any better than this - it's one of my favorites!

I havent heard the original of this either - though when I first listened to the lyrics properly, it reminded me of being about - for lack of a better word - a slut. 'Rosalie' is everyone's favourite little record girl, the girl who struts around a small isolated hometown, and repeats. P: The bit where he says 'She knows music, I know music, too you see' i consider the opposite of what dueyfinster said. They DONT actually have a lot in common, i mean seriously, anyone who likes music in the first place knows a fair bit of it. The fact they both like it, is like him trying to put definition to his relationship with him, when in fact, its lust rather than love.

And come on D:

"Down on me, rosalie Shine on me will you please" that doesn't sound sus to anyone?

Anyhow, thats just my opinion. Maybe its because I wanted to put a different perspective on the song, but nonetheless, its great.
