You Suck! But Your Peanut Butter Is OK Lyrics
Would you exist without all the fists
The music clenched for you?
You're dressed up like a full-bodied anarchist
Right down to your views
It's more than points that break, there's no threat, little promise
To your life, so you take it out on music.
Your talk is cheap, I don't want to hear it
Go preach to your fucking choir
You piss and moan for what's no longer your own
You're pissing on the motives of my friends
I understand what you're saying, what you're going through
But your point never ends.
It's more than points that break, there's no threat, little promise
To your life, so you take it out on music
Your talk is cheap, I don't want to hear it
Go preach to your fucking choir
The ticket price, the songs that you write.
We've got out eyes on you
The internet is just a minute away
And I'm telling on you
It's more than points that break, there's no threat, little promise
To your life, so you take it out on music
Your talk is cheap, I don't want to hear it
Go preach to your fucking choir
The music clenched for you?
You're dressed up like a full-bodied anarchist

I actually found an interview where singer/guitarist Jason Shevchuk explains the song and title. I was right! Here's what he had to say.
"Yea that's written about a specific thing... it's the only specific case on the record, only thing that is actually about a certain situation. We were on tour with Against Me!, it was right after their Fat debut had come out. And for some crazy reasons, they were getting a lot of shit for signing to Fat. A lot of their diehard fans were really giving them shit because of it. Anyone who had anything to say to them, they would welcome them with their open arms, they would invite them to backstage. And one night in Pittsburgh, these kids approached the band with all these insults about the direction of the band while eating the band's food and drinking their beer! And that's where the title came from, these guys eating a peanut butter sandwich, like "you guys are terrible, but I'll eat your food, I'll eat what you've been rewarded as a touring band". The song is not about Against Me! in particular, it's about a certain person who treated them with disrespect."
Funny stuff. Here's the entire interview. http://batman.jypoly.fi/~c2451/musiikki_jasonshevchuk_eng.htm
that is funny! good job with the link! thanks

Could this possibly be about Propagandhi? I have no idea, really. But there are a few lines that make me feel that it's a jab at Propagandhi.
I was thinking it might be about Against Me! and their switch to a major label.
I agree.. I think this is a shot at Propagandhi for what they said on "Sustainable Capitolism" about NOFX. If so, it gets a little personal. Meaning, it goes beyond musical philosophy.
"...little promise to your life, so you take it out on music..."
On the other hand Propagandhi is dead on with their commentary on NOFX. The Irony, Propagandhi is still on fat. Hmm...
it could be about propagandhi , thats for sure .....but i don't get the pint but ticket prices and all that stuff cause propagandhi ain't playing shows. i'd rather say its about against me , but on the other hand against me doesn't preach that much and they are good friends with none more black..........argh fuck none more black, propandhi rules the political punk world
It's a criticism of Against Me!'s fans bitching that they signed to a major. Or any punk band really. It's about how all the kids turn their backs and talk shit on their favorite bands for signing to majors when those bands are just trying to support themselves and make a better living. Fuck the kids sometimes.
just for the fun of playing devils advocate. i feel like some punk bands have become the priets that rape the kids. even the most intelligent and eloquenct anarchists at some point had to find his older brothers black flag vynel, and that music and emotion is somthing that hits people in a way, people base there lives off this shit and boom in the end the bands that you loved that shaped the way you think and live didnt really believe in shit and would betray there beliefs at the drop of a hat if it makes them a...

thefeesh is right...both about the song being about the fans and how kids suck sometimes
No mention of peanut butter...disappointing.
you are all so wrong about that propagandhi thing
This song is about Against Me, the "peanut butter" was some kind of incident that happened between None More Black and Against Me. It's not about Propaghandi, they're still amazing.
