From the Last, Last Call Lyrics

Here's a long, evasive story of failed hopes and glories
Old chandeliers and scratched up forty-fives
Here's some hymns for my procession
And a couple drunk confessions
A lie soaked in rapture tonight

No, no lie, no lie, no, no lie
Believe me when I say that I'm trying hard today
But I'm not right, no I'm not right
Tell me it's not true
I would never lie to you
I'm not right, no I'm not right
Maybe you will see that it wasn't meant to be
But it's not me, no

The sins of the faithful
The luxuries of regret
But it's the faithless who will know loves tradgedies
An act of purification
With all the best intentions
Smite me for my inquietudes

No, no lie, no lie, no, no lie
I can't believe you say that you're better off this way
But I'm not right, no I'm not right
Tell me what you see when you stare and look at me
I'm not right, no I'm not right
I'm sorry when I say I'm still holding on today

And will you forgive me
When I'm found dead on this train
On the outskirts of Berlin?
Doubled up on angel dust
There crying on my knees
For some God to come and save this lifeless soul for me
Now my ghost will write these words
As you cry yourself to sleep

I'm not right, no I'm not right
You'd never want to know what I'm capable of
I'm not right, no I'm not right
Tell me it's not true
But I would not believe you
I'm not right, no I'm not right
Maybe you will see that it wasn't meant to be
But it's not me

It's "And will you forgive me When I'm found dead on this train On the outskirts of Berlin"

The songs about when he almost overdosed on PCP on a train in Germany

Haha, Muffins are you serious? I remember Kris explained how this one Ataris song was about they tried to bring weed seeds in to the US from Canada. I forgot which one. The chorus is like "I'm not Okay" by My Chemical Romance.

I'm pretty sure it's true, I've read it on a few websites. As for what the rest of the song is about, I have no idea. It's all over the place.

Sounds like its mainly about the effect that his divorce with his wife had on him while traveling.

I can back up the pcp thing. Anyone that has seen them live recently would notice that Kris seems to have some sort of nervous system damage...

This is an outstanding piece of song-writing. Honestly, this is another one of Roe's songs on this album which just stands above anything else he previously wrote.

Kris did mention that he did write it about almost overdosing in Germany. I was at their Knitting Factory, NY show back in April 2006 when they first started playing some of the newer material. He was tremendously unhappy because he was still recovering and going through rough times. he seems much happier since then. Full of energy at all his BS, BH acoustic dates.

This is all about him and the effect that his divorce had on him, which led him to drugs. Spot on, muffins.
