It's The Little Things We Do Lyrics
Well I woke this morning with a teardrop in my eye
Because last night it felt like the best night of my life
Now there's something that is wrong rotting my insides
And I don't understand why my brain wants to die
I had women, wine, party time and everything that mattered
And when I woke up today you know my brain was all in tatters
I had bits of lungs shrapnel glass and cigarettes for breakfast
And my lips are blue, my toes are numb and I think I've got the shivers
It's the little things we do when you go out in the night
And it's pay day today just for having a good time
As your hangover unfolds well the questions will arrive
Why do I feel like death just for having a good time
So I get up and go down the stairs and try to make a sandwich
But the ham and cheese, margarine they speak an evil language
It says "Don't eat me I don't deserve to be there in your stomach"
And I break on down and cry why do good time turn to bummers
It's the little things we do when you go out in the night
And it's pay day today just for having a good time
As your hangover unfolds well the questions will arrive
Why do I feel like death just for having a good time
Because last night it felt like the best night of my life
Now there's something that is wrong rotting my insides
And I don't understand why my brain wants to die
And when I woke up today you know my brain was all in tatters
I had bits of lungs shrapnel glass and cigarettes for breakfast
And my lips are blue, my toes are numb and I think I've got the shivers
And it's pay day today just for having a good time
As your hangover unfolds well the questions will arrive
Why do I feel like death just for having a good time
But the ham and cheese, margarine they speak an evil language
It says "Don't eat me I don't deserve to be there in your stomach"

wow first post. about going out and getting drunk and having fun etc etc and then having a huge hangover in the morning and feeling terrible etc etc. possibly with an underlying message if its really that great getting drunk and if it really is fun? if its really worth it? i duno - mabey thats just me
i can't believe there's only been one post. this is, without a doubt, the best song on their new album, tiredof hanging around, i love it. it's just about how we seem to get punished for enjoying ourselves, like somethings trying to tell us not to go ut and get drunk, etc. kick-ass song, whatever it means...yeh!
This is an amazing song...I particularly like the lines:
''So I get up and go down the stairs and try to make a sandwich But the ham and cheese, margarine they speak an evil language''.
He can be a really original, and amusing lyricist when it comes down to it!
yeah i don't think there really is a deeper meaning to this song. just about hangovers lol.
so catchy this song!
A very, very bad hangover, in which the guy reflects morosely on how 'all the good times turn to bummers'. Great fun to sing along to.
This band is absolutely awesome! How come I'm the only one commenting?! The Zutons need recognition!
