The Kaleidoscope God Lyrics

The lifeless worlds come alive
Gathered here both low and high
Show me sights I dreamt at night
I shall return with the dreaming tide

As above, so below
Microcosm is macrocosm
Anything I visualize
Takes place for real

The formless takes the shape I want
I am the decoder of wavelengths
Unobserved it is but nothing
But the potential for everything

As above, so below
Microcosm is macrocosm
Anything I visualize
Takes place for real

Stray into the silence
Stray into my soul
Stray beyond the shallow entombment
Fate - forms a complex kaleidoscope

Planets interact within my head
Universes moved with the will
Anything I imagine occurs
Manifestation is a fact

Stray into the silence
Stray into my soul
Stray beyond the shallow entombment
Fate - forms a complex kaleidoscope

The outside appears to move
But never really does
The mind is in movement
Unknowing, unaware
Earth appears in my head

Does the rules of manifestation apply
At such dense place
In such soulless waste

Travel forth light-years away
Beyond the form of night and day
Kaleidoscopic shapes at play
Colours sparkle in every way

As above, so below
Microcosm is macrocosm
Anything I visualize
Takes place for real

Stray into the silence
Stray into my soul
Stray beyond the shallow entombment
Fate - forms a complex kaleidoscope

The outside appears to move
But never really does
Earth appears in my head
Does the rules of manifestation apply

This song is amazing! Seven minutes of audio perfection! There's so much going on this song and the guitars are technically amazing! As for the meaning, I think it's about a supreme being like a God who has total control of the universe...like anything he thinks happens.

It sounds like a dream, or it could be about how the rules of dreams could also apply in waking life.

"Unobserved it is but nothing". Sounds like a reference to Schrodinger's Cat, or quantum mechanics.

The song sounds like a riddle x)

what exactly is the "dreaming tide"? where reality and dream meet at one point? hmm... they use that word a lot.

im guessing the dreaming tide is some kind of metaphor for the flow of dreaming thought.

as for the song itself, it could be interpreted alot of different ways. the chorus "stray into the silence.." i think is some kind of exploration into the deeper soul as opposed to something skin deep "shallow entombment".

the kaliedoscope god is a personification of fate, representing the many different, twisted paths of fate through the kaleidoscope's distorted image "fate forms a complex kaleidoscope."

scar symmetry have some of the best lyrics i know of, they always seem so deep to me.

The dreaming tide may be a reference to the power of lucid dreaming and its effect on the perception of many of its practitioners. Within a lucid dream, the power to create or destroy with impunity and omnipotence is only impeded by the dreamer's will to do so. Other songs by Scar Symmetry, such as "Dreaming 24/7" and "Holographic Universe" tap into this theme, so it's not surprising to hear another song that revolves around a similar notion.

To someone who's existentially 'free' the fear of divine punishment is a null issue, so pretending to be God in the playground of dreams becomes a liberating and exhilarating experience. I do it, so I can say this from experience. :)

Just pointing out that the first chorus speaks of Hermitic philosophy. "As above, so below" is an axiom of said belief system that asserts what happens on one level of human existence happens on the others. Microcosm and macrocosm is a similar construction that connects small systems (microcosm) to larger ones (macrocosm) in the cosmos. "Anything [the speaker] visualizes" (microcosm) is also happening in the macrocosm of reality, or "tak[ing] place for real."

My Interpretation

That should be "Hermetic," not "Hermitic."

Great Song, If you like this song, then listen to Holographic Universe, its about the same concept, same epic song. Great band.

I think the lyrics are about beliefs about the universe, and the mind, based on very current breakthrough scientific theories as well as old Zen theories of the mind. deep

"microcosm is macrocosm" is related to scientific theories that "prove" that on an atomic level, nuclei, electrons, etc., behave exactly the same as planets and galaxies. And they are both almost entirely empty space, which in quantum theory represents potentiality for new creation.

"Stray into the silence" may have something to do with that. Inviting people to use their own creative power to change things maybe.
