Dawn Lyrics

When darkness is no less than everything you've built become undone
There's no fight and no flight, disaster leaves your passion overrun

It's time to let go, it's time to carry on with the show
don't mourn what is gone, greet the dawn

n' I will be standing by your side
together we'll face the turning tide

Remembrance, can be a sentence, but it comes to you with a second chance in tow
Don't lose it, don't refuse it, cos you cannot learn a thing you think you know

A new light is warm, shining down on you after the storm
Don't mourn what is gone, greet the dawn

n' I will be standing by your side
together we'll face the turning tide

Clearly this is about holding on when things get rough in life, not looking back and depending on the people around you, who love and support you. And looking at all the new doors that open at that point in life.

this one makes me think of a love i "lost".. though i never really had him, just a feeling we shared for several years without knowing it, and now that we do it's a little too late..

"remembrance can be a sentence but it comes to you with a second chance in tow"

that makes me think that as long as we remember the feelings we shared, there might come another chance someday.. and i'm sure we'll never fully forget, but since more important thing's keep coming in between us, we need to bury them and see what the future brings...

sorry, it's all just a very personal point of view.. i love to relate to lyrics in my own way, to make it fit my state of mind :) wonderful song anyways, i love it!

Remembrance, can be a sentence, but it comes to you with a second chance in tow Don't lose it, don't refuse it, cos you cannot learn a thing you think you know

I really like this quote. My interpretation is as follows: Remembrance can be a sentence. Sometimes we are reminded of past wrongs or hard times due to just a sentence or a single word. Like I was once reminded of a trip because someone said the word "palm" - and although I had a great trip I suddenly missed all the people I met on the trip.

The next sentence states that remembrance gives us a second chance. I think most can aggree that this is a good thing, and since this sentence starts with a "but" I believe that the previous sentence is intended to have a negative value. That is, the remembrance that the song is talking about brings about negative emotions. Also, the second sentence reminds us that blocking our negative thoughts away from consciousness is sometimes a bad way of blocking out the negative emotions, that are a result of the negative thoughts. By focusing on the negative thoughts and emotions we can actually learn something about ourselves and may have the opportunity to do something about the things that continuously stress us in our lives.

And the last two sentences basically just say what I already said in the above. You shouldn't block/refuse the thoughts (remembrance) and you can learn something, you might never knew, you didn't know by not blocking your thoughts.
