Coal To Diamonds Lyrics
I think I feel a little hurt,
My fists are turning coal to diamonds,
Why no one told me so much work
would all go into trying
Oh but the feelings ain't the same,
How some things never change,
Well nobody is perfect
and I knew better anyways
I thought about till my head-- hurt
I thought about it, but it only made things worse
I thought about it till my head--hurt
I thought about it but it only made things worse
So I was wrong
What could I do
Knew all along
Oooh
Oooh
Oooh
Oooh
I think I feel a little hurt
My fists are turning coal to diamonds
Why no one told me so much work
would all go into trying
Oh but the feelings ain't they strange How some things never change
Well, nobody is perfect
and I knew better anyway
I thought about till my head-- hurt
I thought about it but it only made thinsg worse
I thought about it till my head hurt
I thought about it but it only made things worse
So i was wrong
what could i do?
I knew all along
I'm a fool for you.
My fists are turning coal to diamonds,
Why no one told me so much work
would all go into trying
Oh but the feelings ain't the same,
How some things never change,
Well nobody is perfect
and I knew better anyways
I thought about till my head-- hurt
I thought about it, but it only made things worse
I thought about it till my head--hurt
I thought about it but it only made things worse
So I was wrong
What could I do
Knew all along

her voice in this song is amazing
i'm hypnotised... simply wonderfull
to me this song is about something a boyfriend/girlfriend has done in the past and you try not the let it bother you but you do think about it and the more you do the worse you feel about itand it makes you feel like how could somebody like this get involved with something like that.
thats just to me probably nothing to do with it
her voice is so beautiful here though :)
Def about relationships. How angry/frustrating they are - 'my fists are turning coal to diamonds' 'I think I feel a little hurt' - how you try to put a brave face on things. 'Why no one told me so much work' - can feel like a real struggle.
I love how there's no glimmer of resolution, no development at all. Her voice is diamond.
To me it's about her being in a relationship with somebody who she knew would eventually hurt her ("I knew all along")- and it happened. She doesn't put blame on that person (because "nobody is perfect"), but she can't stop thinking about it anyway, which doesn't solve a thing.
