Brace Yourself (album version) Lyrics

Feels like my head is waking up
Released from the bonds that locked me out
I didn’t realize the compromise
Would leave me in a rut
It doesn't matter who's to blame
But all of the victims lose their names
And all of our past mistakes
Are tattooed on the lives we've claimed

Every time we face rejection
Enters in the same equation
Add it up to find the sum
Of someone wanting out

Chorus:
Brace yourself
I’m breaking out
Too many years have come and passed me by
To keep the windows shut
So brace yourself
I’m breaking out
All the days that couldn’t keep me down
I’m crumbling to the ground

I, oh no.

Maybe it’s already too late
To tell if it’s luck or if it’s fate
Guiding a vehicle
That couldn’t keep our bodies heading straight
Where are the answers that we need
Why has it been so hard to see
We had to lose ourselves
To fight our whole lives waiting there

Add it up to find the sum
Of someone wanting out

Chorus

So now we’re writing
The prologue to our story
Filling sections
Left from when we second-guessed
The chances that could get us here
Take a fall to lose it all
So we could see the the atmosphere

So brace yourself
I’m breaking out
To all of the days that couldn’t keep me down
I’m crumbling to the ground
Go fuck yourself
I’m breaking out
Too many years have come and passed me by
To keep the windows shut
Yeah

So brace yourself
So brace yourself

How am I the first to comment on this band? They kick so much ass that isn't even funny.

Anyways, I think this song is kind of an "intro" to the album/band. Even though it isn't the first song on the album, it's still the title track. It's just saying "Brace yourself, because Dropping Daylight is here and we aren't leaving any time soon."

I saw these guys last night in detroit. They were pretty sweet although I had never heard of them so I picked up their cd and listened to it all the way through afterwards. they're pretty damn good

I have always thought this song was about people not believing in them and criticizing them (or maybe him--it could be just about Sebastion) saying basically "go fuck yourself," we're going to do our thing despite you.

first of all amazing band and song. 2nd. i think this song is meaning something along the lines of.. i was content at one point [[ or pretending to be]] keeping an image of the whole "i'm okay" then all the sudden from everything happening around you/them you finially are breaking out.. letting people know how you really feel.

this band is fucking amazing. i saw them in august last year, and would gladly see them again in a heartbeat. this song also kicks ass. i think its about someone who is sick and tired of being rejected, and hearing "no" for an answer. they just dont care anymore and are gonna break out of their shell and do whatever they feel like doing.
