Just to correct the lyrics: It: "And if I fought with all the"
"Fought", not "fall"
Fall isn't propper english in this context, and if he fought, then he could have keept his love".
ok...so what he really meant was "i've wrestled with sexy foxy mamas all my life / it's always their sex appeal and charm that keeps me blind"

as good as this song is, it's depressing whenever i hear it.
shit hit the fan with me and girl, i never seen her for 3-4 months.
we were both at a afterhours club, i seen her numerous times. i didn't know what to say or do, i just tried to avoid her. i don't think she recognized me anyways.
later on during that night, a&b just happend to drop this god damn song.
anyways, the lyrics are straight forward.

How does one make an angel his own?
I've always thought those two lines make it sound like he quit a relationship in hope of something better, an "angel" "blinded him" if you like. But it didn't work out... and now he wishes he hadn't quit that relationship, and he wishes he wasn't all alone.
Well some people wrestle with demons. Perhaps by wrestling with angels he means that it's the good or compassionate part of him that gets him into trouble and that messes up his life, and that that's the part he has trouble controlling.

I think by angels he's talking about the beautiful things in life (his ex?) that have tricked him into thinking that they're true and good because they're beautiful. But these things have left him sad and alone.
I'm listening to this song right now and didn't know the lyrics. This is gorgeous, even if it does remind me of being in high school and alone... I love the comparison of his ex to an angel. Good stuff.
