Bubble and Spike Lyrics
I couldn't see your face through the rain
When you left me standing there at 4 AM
I got to catch my train
I got to find my way
So why do I pretend to move
The way you want me to
Your time is mine but yours to waste
I've got to find my way
Life is beautiful
Your smile
I can see it that way
When you left me standing there at 4 AM
I got to find my way
The way you want me to
I've got to find my way
Your smile
I can see it that way

I've always thought it was:
Life is beautiful Your smile But I can't see it that way
We're absolute fucking miracles; every one of us. The existence of every form of complex life on this earth is amazing - even insects and plants - and we're the most advanced and amazing of all. I've had some beautiful moments in life, and shared many beautiful moments with beautiful people, but I don't even want to live inside my mind anymore despite the beauty around me. Life has simply become too complex to be enjoyable.
For some reason the lyrics at the bottom don't seem right to me:
Life is beautiful Your smile I can see it that way
But that's how I've seen it posted on other lyric sites as well..
I thought it was:
Life is beautiful In small ways (each day) You take it that way
To me it was 100 times more meaningful with those lyrics..
Can anyone else hear the lyrics I'm hearing?
One, I want to know what she says in the middle of the song when she is whispering. It sounds beautiful, but I cant understand it.
This song has a special meaning to me. What I think of when I listen to this song is that there is an ending relationship and he is going away somwhere. She doesnt want him to go so she pretends to move where he is. Possibly hoping that when she gets there, he will want her. He is her everything (time) but yet... maybe he doesnt take the time to realise.
I dont know, it sounds a lot better in my head! :D
I always heard it as
"Life is beautiful; Smile!" "I can't see it that way"
As if someone was telling them to feel better about their life, or to feel better about the day, but they just couldn't bring themselves to see anything but darkness and sadness.
Since Charles Cooper killed himself, I think it's safe to assume that this was a very emotionally driven song for him. You can feel his pain throughout the track, laced in every layer. This whole album really had a very dark ambiance to it.
