Harvard Hands Lyrics
Let me have your autograph, We’ll leave at the 2nd half
I know all the things you’ve heard, a foot-fault on the 2nd serve
Let me see your saddest face, I’ll write it down in lowercase
I know all the things you do, but darling know my aim is true
I fall to pieces
Why can’t you see this?
Let me see your Harvard hands, A morse code I can understand
My heart is breaking under weight, So serve it on a paper plate
Baby I can end this fight, A cup of tea will make it right
I played it on a broken string, A note that I could never sing
I fall to pieces
Why can’t you see this?
All that completes us
Is our love and Jesus
Let me pass on 2nd down, a Sunday game with friends in town
We’ll run to Wal-mart late at night, I’ll kiss you underneath the lights
The spring is when this firm recruits, I’ll polish off my navy suit
I can set your pulse to rest, I love you though I’m 2nd best
Why can’t you see this?

i can't believe no one's commented on this song yet. it's by far one of my favourites right now. i think he's talking about being completely vulnerable when you like/love someone, even if they aren't giving you what you deserve. i love basically every line in the song, but my favourite line may be when he says "I love you though I'm second best." beautiful!
If you like this song you should check out Pavement's "father to a sister of thought" from "Wowee Zowee" because it's a complete rip-off of that song.
