I Wish You Love Lyrics

I wish you bluebirds in the spring
To give your heart a song to sing
And then a kiss, but more than this
I wish you love

And in July a lemonade
To cool you in some leafy glade
I wish you health, and more than wealth,
I wish you love

My breaking heart and I agree
That you and I could never be
So, with my best, my very best
I set you free

I wish you shelter from the storm
A cozy fire to keep you warm
But most of all, when snowflakes fall
I wish you love

My breaking heart and I agree
That you and I could never be
So, with my best, my very best
I set you free

I wish you shelter from the storm
A cozy fire to keep you warm
But most of all, when snowflakes fall
I wish you love

But most of all, when snowflakes fall
I wish you love

why has no one commented on the AWESOME song?!?? i love how the piano and strings blend... and her voice is so achy, haha...

well, i think the meaning of this song is obvious, but since it's a song meaning site, i'll just say it's about someone who loves someone they can't be with, and so they wish the other person all good things, but most of all, love. on a final note, i like how it shows the seasons changing, showing how the person will continue to wish the best for the other throughout the years.

I like her arrangement of the song. It sounds wistful, reflective.

I think it means someone, ready to give up their relationship because it's not right for them both, so now he/she is wishing the other the best for their future in the years to come. It's a different kind of love, wishing for happiness and good fortune that may not be yours.

I really like both versions of this song. The jazzier one definitely works a little better for a live show, but the one off the prime soundtrack is intense. You can really get in deep. The toughest thing at the end of a relationship is simply accepting it and moving on. It's so tough to keep a high level of tact when dealing with a broken heart, feelings usually tend to be bitter, and wishing someone only good things when it's over is all the more heartbreaking. Man that shit hurts...

I don't even think of this song as a "relationship" song. It's so simple and beautiful, that I sometimes listen to it and hope that love enriches everyone in my life. You don't have to "be" with someone, but live (hence seasons for a more literal sense) and hope that love in their life remains forever.

I love this song, and am doing a video of songs for when I die to leave behind for my family & friends, so that they know how much I love them and that I wish that even though we can't be together anymore I hope that love will continue to enrich their lives through out every season. and that love in their life remains forever.

There are several versions out there of this song. If you want to hear an absolutely GORGEOUS and haunting version, look up the one by Johnnyswim. The singer, Amanda, is Donna Summer's daughter!!
