The ocean is on fire, the sky turned dark again as the boats came in
And the beaches, stretched out with soldiers
With their arms and guns it has just begun

Believe
You want this
Believe
I want this too

Why won't you tell me that
It's almost over
Why must this tear my head
Inside out

And the houses laid out like targets
With the deafening sound
We watched them all go down
And the families now useless bodies
They lay still black and blue
A gift from us to you

Believe
You want this
Believe
I want this too

Why won't you tell me that
It's almost over
Why must this tear my head
Inside out

Believe
Believe
You want this too

Why won't you tell me that
It's almost over
Why must this tear my head
Inside out

Why won't you tell me that
It's almost over
Why must this tear my head
Inside out

You have to be a moron to think this song ISN'T ABOUT WAR, it just is, it represents the perfect way: rough and real, just the way it actually is.

    1. It doesn't really matter what war it is, NO WAR makes sence and never will, you can't justify some wars or judge just some others, every war, everywhere is wrong. If a song is an anti-war song, it's going to be an "anti-2wars" song.

    2. master_erk:"Also,i m sure im gonna get alot of crap about this...but i support the Iraq War. We're kickin ass over there now with the surge and what not. these is still war going on because if there wasnt we would all have to be god.War is infinite,it wont go away until the world does,so get used to it.If you want peace then get ready for war,and then the irony that is peace" If everyone just thought like you, and everyone just said that everything is infinitive and just put up with that, humanity would still be living in caves in the woods. SO Fuck You!

      1. I don't know exactly what the song is about, and I Don't think anyone does but the band and close friends, but to me this will always be the ultimate anti-war song, it just describes as it is, and is saying how it has to end and has no point. and; x_gleamingauction, it's true, every good writter could do it, but no one really does youknow? This is the real deal, affecting hard innocent people, and no one gives a shit about it, except the people killing other people or the ones who's lives have alredy been ruined by war.

5 "And the houses laid out like targets, With the deafening sound, We watched them all go down. And the families now useless bodies, They lay still black and blue, A gift from us to you" to me, this is the most important part of the song, 'cause it admints how is America's fault, and how ridiculously stupid it realy is. The "Believe I want this" part, is about how they make you believe it is right, when you know not you or anyone sane don't want it.

    1. IT is a great song, and has a deep meaning, that no one really cares about. And I don't think is overrated at all, it should be recognized, and Tom should get more recognition for these real, free speaking, honest and revolutionary lyrics. Sorry, call me crazy, but I don't appreciate it when innocent people die, and families get broken for the econimical an political interests of authorities who make you believe you're doing a great labor. I admire the soldiers but I will never support war or anyone who kills somone for no reason, except that they were told to.

    DONE

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
