Superstar Lyrics
long ago
and oh so far away
I fell in love with you
before the second show
your guitar
it sounds so sweet and clear
but you're not really there
it's just the radio
don't you remember you told me you love me baby
you said you'd be coming back this way again baby
baby baby baby baby oh baby
I love you, I really do
loneliness, is such a sad affair
and I can hardly wait
to be with you again
what to say
to make you come again
come back to me again
and play your sad guitar
don't you remember you told me you love me baby
you said you'd be coming back this way again baby
baby baby baby baby oh baby
I love you, I really do
don't you remember you told me you love me baby
you said you'd be coming back this way again baby
baby baby baby baby oh baby
I love you, I really do
and oh so far away
I fell in love with you
before the second show
your guitar
it sounds so sweet and clear
but you're not really there
it's just the radio
you said you'd be coming back this way again baby
baby baby baby baby oh baby
I love you, I really do
and I can hardly wait
to be with you again
what to say
to make you come again
come back to me again
and play your sad guitar
you said you'd be coming back this way again baby
baby baby baby baby oh baby
I love you, I really do
you said you'd be coming back this way again baby
baby baby baby baby oh baby
I love you, I really do

No it is about a groupie who sleeps with a superstar that promises he loves her and he'd come back for her. The original title by Delaney, Bonnie, & Friends was called Groupie (Superstar). It was the Carpenters that changed the lyrics "I can hardly wait to be with you again." from "I can hardly wait to sleep with you again."
does anybody know who this song is about?
This song is a cover, so I don't think that it's specificaly about anyone in the band.
My god, this cover is so eerie.
I love it so much though.
This song is a cover by the Carpenters. If you watch the video, it's all about Karen Carpenter. Thurston and Kim have some weird obsession with her life. Which is understandable. Her story is amazingly poignant.
once in a very long while, appears a version to a beautiful song, which is even much more beautiful than the one written and performed originally, this (for me) is certainly one of them, sang by a boy instead of a girl,in a soft, whispery voice, which results into a dark, melancholic composition that touches the inside with a gentel, violent caress.
The original was actually by a group called Delaney, Bonnie & Friends (or something similar to that) but the most famous is obviously by The Carpenters.
Supposedly, its about a groupie who fell in love with a rock star and he told her he loved her back, but he has moved on in his tour and now she can only hear him on the radio.
LOVE THIS COVER.
dreamlike
I don't think it's abotu a groupie, probably one band member feel in love with another, or just another musician.
