Alright this part defiantly gets something going in me. Here it is: Well with lyrics you kinda half to have them in some form. I'm not saying they have to rhyme im just saying they have to be in a form to fit the song.
So you can't really use everything you want to in a song.
I have a bunch of notebooks i write at home, but of course i cant use all of them for lyrics cause they wouldnt really fit the song.
So the lyrics he's winning people over aren't like tthe stuff he has written at home in which he probably expresses himself more using more detailed situations and detailed words.
It's true though no one really wants to know that kind of stuff because they won't be able to relate to something like that. Lyrics need to be more generalized sometimes.
I don't know if I'm crazy or if anyone will get what I'm saying it's just a though that came to my head and i needed to try to explain it. Keyword is try =/

I always thought "pages left at home" meant at the 'homes' (hypothetically) of the fans, i.e. bringing them something different and new, and giving them an escape from the realities of what they're used to.

another thought I have is that ATL's early music wasn't generalized (look at we all fall down, and lullabies, you can clearly tell what that's about). what they're putting out now is...

and in response to the lyric. kids know them and they play little venues that are sprinkled around little towns. not big venues that people know everywhere.

Ehh, I kinda agree, I kind of disagree.
Hometown heroes, national nobodies. The song is about an amazing band that makes the locals go wild, everyone around loves them.
"In rooms packed from window to wall" That means that they are playing a local show so maybe they don't have much room to play, but a ton of people came and squished in just to here the amazing band play.
But because they're just a local band, they're "National Nobodies"

Wow this was the first All Time Low song I ever heard and I fell in love with them.
just a straight-forward, up beat song about a show meant to get the crowd going. and it works. =]
This song would mean more to people if they actually came from the same hometown from All Time Low.
I come from the same hometown as all time low. 3 of them went to the same high school as me, I can relate to this on a huge level, as well as more of their songs.
They have so much support from their hometown, and thats why they are so loved, hense the title, hometown hereos.
They're starting to get more recognition, which is amazing, because they're giving hope to all the other bands from maryland hope.

this song i think is just about any local band thats just starting to become known around their home town. they have their fans who come to their shows cause they live close by which is why theyre "hometown heroes" but still dont have many other fans in other parts of the country which explains that "national Nobodys"
Agreed with most of them above :) I think it's pretty self-explanatory. It definitely shows how much they appreciate and care about their fans. I'm not from Maryland, but I can bet that ya'll feel sentimental and proud and a whole bonanza of feelings when you hear this song :,)
It makes me wanna dancejumprunsingflyshimmy- -jugglebananasandchasemonkeys. The guitar-solo at the end is awesome even though it's pretty simple, actually, the whole song is awesome. Like the band. Yesyes :)
