God Lyrics

I got a question, let me ask you
can you explain your reasoning to me
It aint a matter if my heart of magma(??)
When there is no luck in it for me

Im not the type of guy to hold a grudge
against something that i can hardly see
But to say that theres no reason for everything
Leaves me doubtful and in dreams to say the least

God you dont want to answer me
But if you do, you better agree
God youve got the strangest sense of humor
Your to funny to be so heavenly

I got your number and you only show me
Just a little common decency
I knew before you
When you bless me test me
And answer with this plague inside of me

Im not the type of guy to
Bleed with the sky above
Over the demon under me
But to say that theres a reason for everything
Leaves me doubtful and in dreams to say the least

God you dont want to answer me
But if you do, you better agree
God youve got the strangest sense of humor
God you dont want to answer me
But if you do, you better agree
God youve got the strangest sense of humor
Your to funny to be so heaven
Your to funny to be so heavenly

to me, this song is a plea to god to hear our prayers, but often they go unanswered.

i think it was written in response to darryl palumbo being diagnosed with crohn's disease over a year or two ago.

I definitely agree with the Chron's Disease comment. This song is Daryl, on the brink of becoming an Atheist, as a 'final' message to God. After not being answered for being damned with Chron's, he basically tells God that he's got a fucked up sence of humor and gives God a sarcastic "Thanks, Buddy." It's so obvious that God has to agree about his humor.

That's what I like about Head Automatica's sound and Daryl's lyrics on this album, the music is so poppy but the lyrics are so grim. Pretty awesome combo IMO, good stuff.

Its funny... before I read the lyrics, the part where he says "doubtful and intrigued" I always thought he said "tofu and a drink" lol

Yeah, galaxia and everyone who agrees with them are right...It's obvious it's about his suffering from Crohn's...

Actually Daryl Palumbo wrote this song shortly after my daughter gave him a note at a concert in Lancaster Pennsylvania. At the time we were Christian and she loved Daryl, and knew about his struggle with Crohn's. She wanted to know if he believed in God, because God could heal him from his problems. And it was shortly after that that she heard the song for the first time. She also got to meet him that night outside of the venue and he talked to her for a really long time. He's probably one of the nicest rock stars that I have ever personally met. Took so much time with her, I don't think he realized she was only 14...lol! She asked him if he she could see his XXX tattoo in his mouth and he seemed very upset to have to tell her that he was not straight edge anymore. But I mean she didn't care she really, really liked him!
