Zero Lyrics
Your Life dreams are shattered, you're gone away
We've cried here for hours, and the hours turn to days
We know you regret this, leaving us here,
With portraits and memories that we've held so dear
When I hear your name, it's not the same
No matter what they say, I'm not okay
And we started at zero, and went different ways
Now we're all out here wasting away
And if we started at zero, then how did things change?
It seems like just yesterday we were the same
It's been 3 months since he left us
so far nothing's been the same
and my question without answer is:
Am I the one to blame?
He was such a good description of a favored future man
He spoke well of other people, and they said the same for him
When I hear your name, it's not the same
no matter what they say, I'm not okay
And we started at zero, and went different ways
Now we're all out here wasting away
And if we started at zero, then how did things change?
It seems like just yesterday we were the same
we were the same
They say they're sorry, but what are they sorry for?
How can they possibly know what I'm going through?
I feel like no one's ever had to deal with this pain that I'm dealing with right now
Just 6 months ago everyhting was fine, or so it seemed
what turn of event caused him to go downhill?
his parents are devastated
his girlfriend's depressed
What was he thinking!?
And we started at zero
And went different ways
Now we're all out here wasting away
Wasting away
Wasting away
Wasting away
And we started at zero
And went different ways
Now we're all out here wasting away
And if we started at zero
Then how did things change?
It seems like just yesterday we were the same
We were the same
We were the same
We were the same
We've cried here for hours, and the hours turn to days
We know you regret this, leaving us here,
With portraits and memories that we've held so dear
No matter what they say, I'm not okay
Now we're all out here wasting away

yea about suicide. soo sad. it kinda makes me wanna cry. yea im a loser...
You pop in the HN cd and you get all these awesome songs, but most of them are somwhat pop/punkish, normal Hawk Nelson, and a little bit like everyone else, and then you hear this, and you go "whoa" that really sets them apart. any band can do a song with a cool beat, and make it good, but not many bands can take a subject like this and make it into a GOOD piece of music. it takes dedication and soul in the song, and they do that here, great song :)
Gah, this song is pretty much my favorite. The first time I heard it was two weeks after one of my best friends killed himself. I've got somewhat of an emotional attachment to this song. And the video is amazing! And when they sang it at YC this year, man I was so excited and defiently almost cried. And I bought a shirt that's grey and says "WE STARTED AT ZERO" in yellow. And they signed it. Anyway, yeah...I love this song.
The emotion poured into this song is incredible. Every time I hear it it brings tears to my eyes.
Pretty simple song to understand, his dad left him and he wants to say its ok but its not. Its the best song on the cd tho
Scratch that....its about suicide
that was only the 2nd time i herd it when i posted my first comment...
Yep.
this song is about the thoughts of one person, in the situation that their friend has committed suicide.
i agree. best song on the cd.
Yeah, for a second I was like. His Dad left him? wtf, wrong song. Anyway. This song is so pretty. Jason Dunn had a real life experience growing up which spurred this - his friend&co-worker killed himself at 19. shocking.
Sad song.
