No Promises

He is dead and he doesnt want to leave his girlfriend. by no promises i think that he is saying that he cant make any promises because nothing is certain you can be here today and gone today. and by i just wanna die in your arms he means that his only wish would have been to die in her arms and tell her how much he loves her and how much that he still wants to be with her.

i don't think it's about a one night stand, that's completely against everything else he's saying.

i figured he's trying to get this girl to be with him, actually. they've been sort of together, and it's been very good, but she still has reservations because she feels it's too much, too soon. so he's just telling her "i just want you to know that i want to be with you for as long as i can," but no pressure. basically, when he tells her "no promises," he means that SHE doesn't have to promise HIM anything, he's happy just being with her, at her own pace. kind of an "i'll take whatever you give me" idea.

and the whole "i want to die in your arms" thing is him telling her he wants to be with her forever. it's not as morbid as it sounds initially, it's more like "i want to be with you until my dying day" sort of idea.

This is a really romantic and touching song by shayne i like it more than thats my goal!

i h8d this song due 2 my strict music rules of netin witout an awesum guitar solo doesnt deserve 2 b listened 2 but the townies in my drama class played this 2 r drama teach hus leavin us an nw it makes me tink of er so its not as bad as i was.got a gd voice,dnt undastand it.sounds like he doesnt wana leave this girl. Everytime you're near I feel like I'm in heaven, feeling high I don't want to let go, girl." makes me think mabe they ave 2 be separted but he doesnt want 2? just my thots

it sounds really great this song. yet the lyrics baffle me. i want to die in your arms? like what on earth is that meant to be. something i'd prefer is a little more cliched "i wanna be at your side, or i want you in my arms" is a little more appropriate in this context, considering this is meant to have a romantic sentiment to it. i wonder who wrote this song? was he on valium or something?

Its a nice song a bit cliche for sure. The line " I jus wanna die in you arms" is definitely far fetched, its like the Rihanna song "Unfaithful" where she goes "I dont wanna be a murder". ahh well thats pop for you love- hate thing :)
