Stand Lyrics
You feel like a candle in a hurricane
Just like a picture with a broken frame
Alone and helpless, like you've lost your fight
But you'll be alright, you'll be alright
Chorus:
'Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you're made of
You might bend 'til you break
'Cause it's all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you stand
Life's like a novel with the end ripped out
The edge of a canyon with only one way down
Take what you're given before it's gone
And start holdin' on, keep holdin' on
'Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you're made of
You might bend 'til you break
'Cause it's all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you stand
Every time you get up
And get back in the race
One more small piece of you
Starts to fall into place - yeah
'Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you're made of
You might bend 'til you break
'Cause it's all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you stand
Yeah, then you stand - yeah
Yeah, baby
Woo hoo, Woo hoo, Woo hoo -
Then you stand - Yeah, yeah
Just like a picture with a broken frame
Alone and helpless, like you've lost your fight
But you'll be alright, you'll be alright
'Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you're made of
You might bend 'til you break
'Cause it's all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off
Then you stand, then you stand
The edge of a canyon with only one way down
Take what you're given before it's gone
And start holdin' on, keep holdin' on
You taste what you're made of
You might bend 'til you break
'Cause it's all you can take
On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
You get mad, you get strong
Wipe your hands, shake it off

This song reflects all about my life. When you think your doing good, sonething goes wrong. Then you just have to get up and get over it.
The chorus sounds like it's about giving head. Jus' sayin.

It's a good song, but huh liverlover9, they just said what it reminded them of.

I cant believe this only has 4 comments! the lyrics of this song are very powerful but even more powerful seems to be hearing them SING it
My favorite line is "One more small piece of you starts to fall into place" because ultimately thats what we're all looking for, to pull ourselves together and find our place
this song remindes me of my father cuz in November he found out he has cancer and he is on chemo right now but everyday he gets up and has the courage to face the day
i was sitting figuring out my life, and i heard this song come on the radio. and saw the video for the first time a few min ago.
all i can say is the old saying is true, if you stand for nothing you will fall for anything.
no matter what life pushes in front of you how are you gonna ever know who you are if you dont stand throguh it.
I love this song. Its so just one of those 'Life' songs that you can relate to.
"Life's like a novel with the end ripped out The edge of a canyon with only one way down"
There's a way to go, and there one way to get there, but you still get to end this story that you call life. You live it your way.
"You feel like a candle in a hurricane"
You feel insignificant in life sometimes like your nothing at all. A small flickering light that can go out anytime. But, you still live through, you have to stand through it.
So, I heard this song in the beginning of this year. Or something like that. In any case, it didn't really hit me until just recently. My life is hell right now. I am not saying it more hellish than anyone else's, but it pretty far gone for me right now. And I was writing in my journal one day and I wrote: Life has problems. They are not meant to break you down, they exist so that you can build up to the person you are meant to be.
This song means so much to me right now. I think I found this song (again) at the perfect moment. I just wouldn't appreciate it like I do if I had found it at another point in my life.
"Every time you get up and get back in the race, one more small piece of you starts to fall into place."
