The Downward Spiral (The Bottom) Lyrics

everything's blue in this world

he couldn't believe how easy it was
(he put the gun into his face)
bang!
(so much blood for such a tiny little hole)
problems do have solutions you know
a lifetime of fucking things up fixed
in one determined flash

everything's blue
everything's blue in this world
all fuzzy
spilling out of my head

the deepest shade
all spilling
he couldn't believe how easy it was
the deepest shade of mushroom blue
everything's blue in this world
a lifetime of fucking things up fixed
a lifetime of
the deepest shade
all fuzzy
spilling

bang!
he couldn't believe how
bang!
he couldn't believe how easy it was
bang!
he couldn't believe
bang!
the deepest shade of mushroom blue

the deepest shade
the deepest shade

bang!

all fuzzy
spilling out of
the deepest shade of mushroom blue

the deepest shade of mushroom

Even more depressing than the original The Downward Spiral. I recall a funny incident from last summer. I was on a summercamp, and it was midnight. I sat on a tree stump listening to this (in a dark forest!) and god what kinda chills i got from it. Then all the sudden, my friend crawls from the bushes and jumps on me from the behind. And aww hell i almost screamed my lungs out!

I listened to this song over and over and over and over again while ready "The Hunger" by Whitley Strieber. I highly recommend the book, as the song goes along with most of the parts to it.

If you listen to this song in a dark room alone, You start seeing things move, I never really did drugs (Besides a few stems), But this song is simply amazing. This song can make you really think about things, And it made my heart beat faster. Trent Reznor is a good, Enough said. But for the meaning It's simply about either homicide or suicide, And within the song the rat's noises make me think that the dead persons body was dumped in a sewer, And around 3:10 you can hear some of "Closer" within the song, I really think you start hearing it around 3:20 actually. This song was built to a word I do not believe in, Perfection. Simply Amazing. One of Trent's best work.

I totally agree with you ninownsu, listening to this song with a good pair of headphones in the dark made me take them off because i thought i accidentally turned on my speakers. effects are great, i don't know any other way to put it. Ive done my share of drugs in the past, and had some bad experiences, had a little flashback to that listening to it alone in the dark.

i don't think this song could possibly have been any better. Its so good its scary
