Anyway, this is another song about the Salem witch trials in America.

"One child is in fits The other child dies"

those lines are about how two girls were having seizures and they were blamed on witchcraft. So began the witch hunt that resulted in the killing of suspected witches. the second line implies that even childern were blamed.

Freelance, you're right about the lyric. I just got off of a 30 hour train and listened to Educated Horses half the time while reading the lyrics in the booklet, but i think that the line "One child is in fits the other child dies" is symbolizing different types of people. The Christians were in fits and they blamed it on others, often named witches whether they were or weren't. But the song can also be a symbolization of human nature in all. Throughout history man has always blamed different men for his own misfortunes (i.e. KKK/nazis (or racism in all) and of course the Salem witch trials) and Rob Zombie used the Lords of Salem as a perfect example of human prejudice, fear, and religious misunderstanding/hatred. Also the line "GOD HATES THE LORDS OF SALEM" is the symbolization of how men have always used God's name to justify thier crimes against humanity, or to make their own humanity.

i have recently read "the crucible" its set in salem during during the sixteen hundreds. Salem was a place in America before it was America i dont know where it still is though. anyway pretty much there were wild accusations and hanging of people for witchcraft. The yellow bird is brought up during the novel when someone pretends to see a yellow bird to accuse someone eles. i think it is a bird of death or something

what nihasa said was true alot of the accusations were just a way of gettign revenge on ur fellow man

zombie is good if i feel like listening to it but i can understand why people dont like it

also that it was christians that condemed and hung people for unjust reasons

Maralade Chainsaw, I take offence to your comment. I'm Catholic and I have not contributed to anything that might have caused anyone harm in any way. I listen to metal, gothic rock, dakwave. All this so called "evil music" but quite alot of the bands I listen to talk about god and their relations with him. you can;t be so general, groups don;t cause shit, individuals do. If a Catholic killed some one, how am I to blame. just because I worship the same God means nothing.

Great song. Rob's saying that the Lords of Salem are damned for the witch burnings. God hates them, no one can save them, no one can even destroy them and end their suffering.
