Bolivia '95 Lyrics
Doctorie
give me a
C
for this
babaloo
opiate me
with that key doctor
babaloo
Please
don't you laugh doc
Manos arriba bien
With springs tickling
less than two feet
from your chin
Lemon Bloody Cola
Lemon Bloody Cola
Lemon Bloody Cola
gonna sponge you down
gonna sponge you down
Save the crops and the bodies
from illness
from pestilence hunger and war
I journey each night like a Saint
to stand on this straw floor
our uniforms are loose
they look flimsy
night black shadows
under the peaks of our caps
shaved up to Augost
I still hear them singing
babaloo
babaloo
Lemon Bloody Cola
Lemon Bloody Cola
Lemon Bloody Cola
gonna sponge you down
gonna sponge you down
Hey you
Hey you
This isn't through
Opiate me
just for
me
with my
babaloo
please dont you laugh?
Manos arriba bien
again and again
again and again
Lemon Bloody Cola
Lemon Bloody Cola
Lemon Bloody Cola
gonna sponge you down
gonna sponge you down
I journey tonight I'm a saint
to stand on this straw floor
The tiles speckling
darker and darker
around my feet
give me a
C
for this
babaloo
with that key doctor
babaloo
don't you laugh doc
Manos arriba bien
less than two feet
from your chin
Lemon Bloody Cola
Lemon Bloody Cola
gonna sponge you down
from illness
from pestilence hunger and war
I journey each night like a Saint
to stand on this straw floor
our uniforms are loose
they look flimsy
night black shadows
under the peaks of our caps
shaved up to Augost
I still hear them singing
babaloo
Lemon Bloody Cola
Lemon Bloody Cola
gonna sponge you down
Hey you
This isn't through
just for
me
with my
babaloo
Manos arriba bien
again and again
Lemon Bloody Cola
Lemon Bloody Cola
gonna sponge you down
to stand on this straw floor
darker and darker
around my feet

OK, this is one of my favourite ever songs and I have NO fucking clue what's going on in the lyrics. I dare anyone to interpret "Lemon bloody Cola" sensibly, even Scott himself.
Well, Scott had said the song is supposed to be about South American refugees? So I guess ya could link it to the scandal a little while ago where Coca Cola was suspected of conspiring to murder Columbian union leaders and putting their bottling plant employees into horrific conditions and violent wars. Which gives a pretty good sense of what they're seeking refuge FROM!
But yeah, Scott's lyrics are ridiculously oblique sometimes.
'Manos arriba bien'translates as something like 'stick em up', in the sense of pointing a gun at someone and telling them that.
