Amaze Disgrace Lyrics
Amaze disgrace
How sweet the sound
Of footfalls in
The underground
And rise my children
Come and play
The perfect earth
She's been blown away
And don't you fear it
When you hear it
Stirring down below
Don't you get that's
How it lets itself into your soul?
These walls are too thin to
Hide our screams
Amaze disgrace
Oh how sweet it is
Your life's blood bleeds
Along your wrist
And rise my children
Come and see
The perfect earth
Catastrophe
And don't you fear it when you hear it
Stirring down below
Don't you get that's how it lets
Itself into your soul?
These walls are too thin to hide our screams
It was a night like tonight
So many years ago
I was drawn towards the light
Held on too tight, could not let go
And rise my children come and play
The perfect earth, she's been blown away
And don't you fear it when you hear it
Stirring down below
(Stirring down below)
Don't you get that's how it lets
Itself into your soul?
(Self into your soul)
And don't you fear it when you hear it
Stirring down below
(Stirring down below)
Don't you get that's how it lets
Itself into your soul?
These walls are too thin to
Hide our screams

C'mon guys.. noone commenting on this amazing song? I think it's great! The whole album rocks and reminds me of Coheed somehow. I love these long instrumental parts in this song.
I think this song is about letting yourself fall into something.. big, something you might not understand. Letting your fears go off and be ready for it.
"The whole album rocks and reminds me of Coheed somehow." There's an explination for that! Joey Eppard (the singer and guitarist) is the brother of Josh Eppard (the old drummer) of Coheed and Cambria. Josh actually used to drum for 3 when they were... a... three piece band. There is no doubt in my mind that the style similarities are connects that way.
a wonderful song. not too sure about the meaning, but it's just great!!
"And rise my children Come and play The perfect earth She's been blown away And don't you fear it When you hear it Stirring down below Don't you get that's How it lets itself into your soul?"
So, I think it's about children who grow up in this bubble where everything seems perfect then one day their eyes open ans see the world for what it truly is. Messed up. Your scared at first, then it just becomes apart of you and you learn to live with it.
"These walls are too thin to Hide our screams"
Kids whose parents overprotect them, can't protect them forever. Sooner or later they're going to see what's going on.
Considering the name "Amazing Disgrace" i'd have to assume that this song is opposite Amazing Grace. Amazing Grace is based on someone's fears or being "lost" and just slowly letting those feelings go. I think that Amazing Disgrace would probably be about the opposite. Judging also by the lyrics, the song seems to be about sugar-coated ideas and feelings that are suddenly realized to be not so, or maybe nothing at all.
No song meaning here, just wanted to share a... uh... memory? I guess?
So back in college SWIM had a bad trip that subsequently affected their mental health for up to 6 months afterwards. About a decade later (they never did it again since), they had a flashback that again affected their mental health, but not as bad or for as long.
During that time, while SWIM was listening to this song and doing a lot of thinking about the bad choice they had made back in college, these three lines happened to stand out (one of them misheard because SWIM had never actually looked up the lyrics until just now):
“Don’t you fear it when you hear it stirring down below. Don’t you get that’s how it lets itself into your soul? These walls will do anything that I scream.”
Quite a chilling feeling, given the vibe of the song. Wouldn't recommend it.
SWIM, that is. SWIM wouldn't recommend it.
The song I would definitely recommend, obviously, because it is sick and 3 is awesome. I lived near where they originated and played local gigs, it was dope.
