NELLY: Am I throwin’ you off?
TIMBERLAND: Nope
NELLY: Didn’t think so.

[Verse 1]
TIMBERLAND:
How you doin’ young lady?
That feelin’ that you givin’ really drives me crazy
You don’t haveta play about the joke
I was at a loss of words first time that we spoke

NELLY:
If you looking for a girl that’ll treat you right
If you lookin’ for her in the day time with the light

TIMBERLAND:
You might be the type if I play my cards right
I'll find out by the end of the night

NELLY:
You expect me to just let you hit it
But will you still respect me if you get it

TIMBERLAND:
All I can do is try, gimme one chance
What’s the problem I don’t see no ring on your hand
I be the first to admit it, I’m curious about you, you seem so innocent

NELLY:
You wanna get in my world, get lost in it
Boy I’m tired of running, lets walk for a minute

[Chorus]
TIMBERLAND:
Promiscuous girl
Wherever you are
I’m all alone
And it's you that I want

NELLY:
Promiscuous boy
You already know
That I’m all yours
What you waiting for?

TIMBERLAND:
Promiscuous girl
You're teasing me
You know what I want
And I got what you need

NELLY:
Promiscuous boy
Let's get to the point
Cause we're on a roll
You ready?

[Verse 2]
NELLY:
Roses are red
Some diamonds are blue
Chivalry is dead
But you're still kinda cute

TIMBERLAND:
Hey! I can't keep my mind off you
Where you at, do you mind if I come through

NELLY:
I’m out of this world come with me to my planet
Get you on my level do you think that you can handle it?

TIMBERLAND:
They call me Thomas
last name Crown
Recognize game
I'm a lay mine's down

NELLY:
I'm a big girl I can handle myself
But if I get lonely I’ma need your help
Pay attention to me I don't talk for my health

TIMBERLAND: I want you on my team
NELLY: So does everybody else.

TIMBERLAND:
Shh, baby we can keep it on the low
Let your guard down ain’t nobody gotta know
If you with it girl I know a place we can go

NELLY:
What kind of girl do you take me for?

[Chorus]
TIMBERLAND:
Promiscuous girl
Wherever you are
I’m all alone
And it's you that I want

NELLY:
Promiscuous boy
You already know
That I’m all yours
What you waiting for?

TIMBERLAND:
Promiscuous girl
You're teasing me
You know what I want
And I got what you need

NELLY:
Promiscuous boy
Lets get to the point
Cause we're on a roll
Are you ready?

[Verse 3]
TIMBERLAND: Don't be mad, don't get mean
NELLY: Don't get mad, don't be mean
TIMBERLAND: Don't be mad, don't get mean
NELLY: Don't get mad, don't be mean

TIMBERLAND:
Wait! I don't mean no harm
I can see you with my t-shirt on

NELLY:
I can see you with nothing on
Feeling on me before you bring that on

TIMBERLAND: Bring that on
NELLY: You know what I mean
TIMBERLAND: Girl, I’m a freak you shouldn't say those things

NELLY:
I’m only trying to get inside your brain
To see if you can work me the way you say

TIMBERLAND:
It's okay, it's alright
I got something that you gon' like

NELLY:
Hey is that the truth or are you talking trash
Is your game M.V.P. like Steve Nash

[Chorus]
TIMBERLAND:
Promiscuous Girl
Wherever you are
I’m all alone
And its you that I want

NELLY:
Promiscuous Boy
I'm calling your name
But you're driving me crazy
The way you're making me wait

TIMBERLAND:
Promiscuous Girl
You're teasing me
You know what I want
And I got what you need

NELLY:
Promiscuous Boy
We're one in the same
So we don't gotta play games no more

oh and don't feed me the shit that this song is not actually about being "promiscuous". even if the song seems to state in the end how it's about a relationship, everything else in the song is obviously giving off a pretty slutty vibe. no one except for mania fans will pay attention to the possible "relationship" behind this song. this is the reason why 13 year olds are running around desperately for sex in the US. at least i guess it made huge amounts of money for her. yipee.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
