Love and Interruption Lyrics
soon your love will turn into the interruption
and your faith will turn into a lover's face
but if you find someone that you can place your trust in
will you call and let me know that he
exists
soon your heart will turn into a stranger's mystery
and your wrongs will hang a stranger from a tree
but if it feels as though there must be something missing
then you must know how it would feel to be complete
and I'd love to believe that he loves you so sweet
as he slides through your throat and finds life
where the streets are all twisting
and buildings are missing
and no one is really alive
just their souls
your soul was the auto
your flesh the break pedal I know
god loves as a stranger
god loves as creator I know (x2)
(doot doot)
soon your love will turn into the interruption
and your faith will turn into a lover's face
but if you find someone that you can place your trust in
will you call and let me know that he
exists
and your faith will turn into a lover's face
but if you find someone that you can place your trust in
will you call and let me know that he
exists
and your wrongs will hang a stranger from a tree
but if it feels as though there must be something missing
then you must know how it would feel to be complete
as he slides through your throat and finds life
where the streets are all twisting
and buildings are missing
and no one is really alive
just their souls
your flesh the break pedal I know
god loves as a stranger
god loves as creator I know (x2)
and your faith will turn into a lover's face
but if you find someone that you can place your trust in
will you call and let me know that he
exists

It seems, to me, that the narrator believes that this girl he used to be with belongs with him. He doesn't think that any guy will really love her as much as he did, and that if she ever feels like something is missing, it's because she must have once felt complete with someone else (the narrator). She must not seen it that way, and so the narrator wants her to let him know if she ever finds someone she trusts, cause he doesn't think she will.
i've always heard this song more in the perspective of a 'concerned onlooker'
"I see what's coming, and I hope it really does make you happy. Because I'd really miss what you're leaving behind."
'what you're leaving behind' could be anything, though. and that's what makes this song perfect.
it's about falling so in love with another person that your love overcomes your love for God, interfering with your faith.
