Hell Is Here Lyrics
I don’t know what to say
The whole world’s burning today
Staring into the grave
Smoke into the sky
See the flames arise
Hell is here at last
Watching buildings collapse
Bridges buckle and snap
City swallowed by waves
Say another prayer
Hoping things will change
Here under the stars
But I don’t know why
Everyone you know will someday die
We all have to say goodbye
Let go of the love we share
Take all the smoke into my eyes
Climb into the hearse
To watch the ocean burn
Nothing left but dust
The whole world’s burning today
Staring into the grave
See the flames arise
Hell is here at last
Bridges buckle and snap
City swallowed by waves
Hoping things will change
Here under the stars
Everyone you know will someday die
Let go of the love we share
Take all the smoke into my eyes
To watch the ocean burn
Nothing left but dust

let it play through...and at the very end there is this simple cord ending the song and Cd..its really nifty. my ex boyfriend pointed that out to me a few nights ago right before he got in a fight and he shuved me outa his car. haha.
I read a review of this album saying that, unlike other StD albums, this one doesn't end on a hopeful note. In fact, there's very little cheer on this album. Lots of death and dying and it's mostly Chris this time, whereas before his anger lashed outward a lot. This song is typical of the mood of the album. I feel that in an age where album art is mostly intended to catch the eye, the dark reds of "Sound the Alarm" are very indicitave of the music itself. Not black and empty, but red and panic-y. The world's not over, but it's rapidly burning and Chris is a nervous observer.
"take all the smoke into my eyes" = "take one last look into my eyes"
