i thought at first that it was being blinded by love. your gal/guy betraying trust in someway...and then at some point confessing...but u dont care u 'close ur eyes' and hold her/him...continuing as before, like nothings happened and therfore the confession is not really heard and essentially means nothing...

but that sounds stupid....i think its really about being strong in a relationship, knowing when enough is enough and despite loving someone having the strength to walk away. the confession now seems to be an effort to try to repair or atone for a mistake. but the confession means nothing to u as u can see that u no longer want to be with this person. so u hold her/him one last time despite the pain, u close ur eyes holding back the tears...and u leave. its about having the self control and the love to walk away...which i feel the music before the song breaks in seems to portray in some way: the quiet, building and triumphant rhythm like u've walked away from somthing with dignity and as a better person. the way the end of the song picks up and breaks thru shows that u r however, in the end, destraught and emotional and impassioned.....but u basically took it like a MAN!
