I think these comments are way off and some of the suggested lyrics.
This song is about a guy -- the singer -- trying to convince someone that they should party: "What is there to keep yourself? You got it wrong. It's a good day to skip. Parents aren't enforcing the laws."
They got in some kind of trouble before but things are going to go just fine this time so let's party. "Don't you ever listen at all?"

Basically it's "everything is going to be all right" song. It harkens back to high school and giving advice such as set your worries aside and enjoy life. Ben comments "... Weed Party,' I was trying to think about the kind of song I'd like when I was 15 and riding around smoking weed. I always wanted to be in a band like that."'
It's a great party track, without being too macho or hedonistic. Easily my favorite track right next to First Song and Great Salt Lake.
Everyone has got it wrong with "the wine". It's really "the whine", as in your whining about not wanting to go to the weed party (or about potentially getting in trouble), is nothing more than fearful thoughts that you allow to control "yourself" and prevent you from having fun.

"You got it wrong" with your whining because you shouldn't allow negative thoughts to control you, especially when they are unfounded, since your/the parents "aren't enforcing the law" (i.e. they don't really think weed is that big a deal even though they pretend to, and...

This is what I'm hearing, and for the most part it makes sense to me. I wish every band would just include their lyrics with the disc.

I think it's a great song, but I think the lyrics poster are a bit wrong. First it sounds like he says plexing not plexi, like perplexing thoughts or multi-faceted thoughts. Secondly, I believe he says "parents AREN'T enforcing the law". It sounds that way, and makes more sense in both cases
