Closer Lyrics
Want to get closer, in too deep
Where there is something I wish for I’ll go through
Want to get closer into you
No hell to discover
I’ve got it all inside myself
Salvation you have preached is gone
No way, you can’t turn it around
Looking for a higher ground
Searching for this something missed before
From a higher ground
Will I fall in a right direction?
(Higher, searching for more)
Falling apart
There’s nothing real
That will convince me to change but I’ll go through
Want to get closer into you
No hell to discover
There is just nothing to betray
Salvation you have preached is gone
No way, you can’t turn it around
Looking for a higher ground
Searching for this something missed before
From a higher ground
Will I fall in a right direction?
(Higher, searching for more)
Looking for a higher ground
Searching for this something missed before
From a higher ground
Will I fall in a right direction?
(Higher, searching for more)
Looking for a higher ground
Searching for this something missed before
From a higher ground
Will I fall in a right direction?
(Higher, searching for more)

Why not just buy the damn cd and take the lyrics from the book? Anyway, good song, I really like the new album.
I am a Christian and im torn inside because i love the song but i hate the lyrics. It says Salvation you have preached is gone No way, you can’t turn it around. That is an absolute lie because no matter what we have done, are doing, or will do in the future. Jesus made it right the moment he died on the cross. And as for religion making war. Yes, IT does but that is nothing we preach. We has Christians are called to Love Our enemies. You have problems with Christians when they dont obey the Bible.
To me, this song is about an inner struggle... abandoning the traditional beleifs to a "higher ground" because "no hell to discover, I got it all inside myself" So she's looking to get out of it and hoping she finds a better way... but going blindly with hope.
Wow..the lyrics are wrong as get back. Whoever's submitting should go to http://www.emptyspiral.net and look at the CORRECT lyrics. This is not the first time this site has screwed up Lacuna Coil lyrics. Take heed of that fact.
I agree with Wumpmom, I think it's about inner struggle too.
Thunderbolt, if you're refering to "Heaven's A Lie", I think it wasn't meant to be anti-religious.
I don't think this song is anti-Religious, but it really wouldn't bother me if it was. I'm a Christian, but I hate religion, all it does is make war.
I think this song is about trying to overcome the hell we all feel inside ourselves everyday.
To Myself I Turned is about retreating into a Fantasy world, and in my fantasy world there would be no religion, cause, like I said, religion causes war.
This is not an anti religion song? Are you reading the same thing I am? I understand if many people have confused "Heaven's a Lie" as an anti religion song, but I can't see it here.
i have never heared Lacuna Coil and i don't know really anything about them but i played this song on guitar hero 3 and i decided to look up the lyrics. i think this song is a struggle to find the truth about religion and she doesn't know what to believe, where she'll end up or what she'll find. Really good song by the way!

double that, I played it just now on expert, got a 471 streak, (or something), it wasn't that hard.. but yeah, it's a good song.
// Looking for a higher ground Searching for this something missed before ///we don't know what it's about, but it's pretty self explanatory; the higher ground is needed to gain leverage over some current, (probably bad), situation. ///Searching for 'this' something, refers to something she's found now, but hadn't found back then. So the song is reflecting on some past event.
// From a higher ground Will I fall in a right direction? ///that's basically saying "once I find this higher ground to overcome whatever this song is about, will I have actually gotten anywhere, or just have falled further in the wrong direction."
I want to download the song, but my isp are being assholes, 0kb/ps on 13 downloads, not bad for a 8mbps, $90 p/m connection?
Sounds good to me, NoPaperclips. I also am a Christian, and I also think this song is pretty cool.
The lyrics.... not exactly sure. At first, it sounds like she's looking for the Truth, God. It sounds like she must have been hurt by someone who was a Christian, and she's just letting it out by saying "Salvation you have preached is gone..." Yet, she's still looking for the "higher ground." So she sounds angry, and she wants help. I don't know. Not really sure.
