A Little's Enough Lyrics

When all is said and done
Will we still feel pain inside
Will these scars go away with night
Stars smile for the morning light

It's like the best dream to have
Where everything is not so bad
Every tear is so alone
Like God himself is coming home

To say I
I can do anything, if you want me here
And I can fix anything, if you'll let me near
Where are those secrets now
That you're just scared to tell
I whisper them all aloud
So you can hear yourself

Dreams were the first sign
The deepest blue, the clearest sky
The silence came with brightest eyes
Like turning water into wine

The children ran to see
The parents stood in disbelief
And those who know braced for the ride
The Earth itself then came alive

To say I
I can do anything, if you want me here
And I can fix anything, if you'll let me near
Where are those secrets now
That you're just scared to tell
I whisper them all aloud
So you can hear yourself

I'm sorry to say it, but you look like you're sad
Your smile is gone, I noticed it bad
The cure is if you let in just a little more love
I promise you this, a little's enough

I'm sorry to say it, but you look like you're sad
Your smile is gone, I noticed it bad
The cure is if you let in just a little more love
I promise you this, a little's enough

I'm sorry to say it, but you look like you're sad
Your smile is gone, I noticed it bad
The cure is if you let in just a little more love
I promise you this, a little's enough

I'm sorry to say it, but you look like you're sad
Your smile is gone, I noticed it bad
The cure is if you let in just a little more love
I promise you this, a little's enough

Oh oh o o oh oh, oh oh o o oh oh, uh oh oh
Oh oh o o oh oh, oh oh o o oh oh, uh oh oh
Oh oh o o oh oh, oh oh o o oh oh, uh oh oh
Oh oh o o oh oh, oh oh o o oh oh, uh oh oh

I'm sorry to say it, but you look like you're sad
Your smile is gone, I noticed it bad
The cure is if you let in just a little more love
I promise you this, a little's enough

I'm sorry to say it, but you look like you're sad
Your smile is gone, I noticed it bad
The cure is if you let in just a little more love
I promise you this, a little's enough

I'm sorry to say it, but you look like you're sad
Your smile is gone, I noticed it bad

The song is about Jesus Christ, "God himself is coming home to say I, I can do anything If you want me here And I can fix any thing If you'll let me near." God and Jesus are ONE with each other. and when Jesus came to the earth 2011+ years ago he "could fix any thing If you'd let him near" "Like turning water into wine" was considered taking the sacrament back then with bread and wine. "The children ran to see" jesus said "bring the children unto me" "Their parents stood in disbelief" because he showed so much love and passion and healed the sick and raised the dead... and the line "the church was scared to tell" was the jews and they crucified him, which leads back to "I can do anything IF YOU WANT ME HERE And I can fix any thing IF YOU LET ME NEAR" "Sorry, I have to say it but you look like you're sad Your smile is gone; noticed it bad The cure is if you let in just a little more love I promise you this; A Little’s Enough" he knew when people were sad and when they needed help, if they needed a cure for illness and he was there for them, and he never asked for much at all, he just wanted love on the earth... A Little's Enough to make it back to heaven when we're all said and done... the reason why i think this is because ha, im mormon and this is what i've been taught, so don't be hatin' its my own opinion.

Tom is definately a Christian and a strong one at that--that has been documented in several interviews. And this song is clearly referencing God and his healing power. But what makes Tom such a genius (aside from his IQ) is that his lyrics for all the songs on this record are multi-faceted. Most can be read and interpreted in more than one way. And I'm sure that was his intent. Is he singing about war? Yes. God? Yes. Family? Yes. His former bandmates? Yes. Love? Most certainly yes.

It's a pretty amazing thing to be able to write like that. His English teacher would be so proud.

This song is breathtaking. You can actually FEEL the emotion in this. Favourite song off the album, its so beautiful... which is what AVA seem to like to produce - beautiful breathtaking songs with mature and equally beautiful lyrics and melodic and... er, well, for lack of a better word, beautiful use of instruments. I was so psyched to hear AVA's stuff, and, they haven't let me down.

Oh, and its been mentioned before, but it's "The cure is if you let in just a little more love, I promise you this, a little's enough"

To me, the chorus and the refrain is about someone loving someone (not neccessarily sexual) who's perhaps secretive, and who has defences against others (you know, like when people build 'walls' around them to protect themselves from others). You want to be there for that person, fix any problems if they allow you in to see that side of them. "I, I can do anything, If you want me here, and I can fix anything, If you'll let me near, What are those secrets now, that you're too scared to tell, I'll whisper them all aloud, so you can hear yourself" ... "I'm sorry I have to say it, but you look like your sad, your smile is gone, I noticed it bad, the cure is if you let in just a little more love, I promise you this, a littles enough"

However, the verses are religious and makes me think of people accepting God and finding faith rather than relationships, and so do not fit into my other theory, but, nevermind. It's just what I think.

"When all is said and done Will we still feel pain inside? Will the scars go away with night?" The first verse is describing what we might feel after God just waved a magic wand and said "All is better." If someone magically heals a wound, will we still feel pain afterward? It also describes what it's like when everything is better. It's the best dream you could think of.

It's as if God himself might speak these words to us on such a day:

"I, I can do anything If you want me here And I can fix any thing If you'll let me near Where are those secrets now? That you're just scared to tell I whisper them all aloud So you can hear yourself" I'll gently whisper those secrets in an audible voice back to you, and "put out on the table" things that you might be too afraid to lay out there.

"Green trees were the first sign The deepest blue, the clearest sky" We might possibly first notice our surroundings, and not what we felt or what we were doing; like suddenly the world had been renewed. No global warming issues, perfect weather, amazing sceneries, etc.

"The silence came with brightest eyes" I think this line is two parts. "The silence came"... Everyone was stunned at the world just being completely re-made, and thus had bright eyes, admiring the scenery... so "with brightest eyes" is actually the eyes of the people of the world, noticing this amazingly renewed world. More of "The silence came [and was the only sound that came forth from the people that were standing in awe] with brightest eyes."

"Like turning water into wine" It would be, to us, as if someone had turned water into wine, as Jesus did. Miraculous. Completely unbelievable, yet undeniably real.

"The children ran to see Their parents stood in disbelief" Children accept things much easier than adults. Since children are so sheltered from the negativity in the world, they wouldn't notice much had changed and would simply accept it, with a mood of "Hey! Let's go have fun, it's great outside!" But us adults would just be stunned.

"The earth itself it came alive to say"... Here, it's hard to imagine that the earth would be saying these words. Mostly I believe this is just repetition and not necessarily meant to be taken literally. Mostly just that "The earth itself came alive..." Think of "To say I, I can do anything" more of a continuation or remembrance of God saying these words.

All in all, I don't really think of it as "Oh my gosh! Tom's a Christian!" It's just like he said. What if God came down and made everything better? That's what this song is about.

The chorus itself is an amazing parallel to any type of relationship where one person is secluding themselves from the rest of the world, and the one caring for that person encourages them to open up, if just a little bit. Because that little bit can lead to complete change.

I hope this clears up a lot of stuff for you that love this song as much as I do.
