i really don't know how to explain the meaning...but this song is so powerful. i listened to it over and over for about an hour and just started crying...for no reason except the beauty and power from this song

It reminds me of life, reflecting on aspects of life "baby crying kept us up all night" simple but true incident that happens in the day of the life.. its beautiful.. I dont know what I mean, but easily one of the most beautiful songs by Ben... and theres lots of them.
I think it's about wanting (yearning) to be something better, or someone in general. wanting to do more, wanting to be more, wanting to mean more.
After having a dream of being something special or just one hell of a happy dream in general, you wake up to the same old sh*t. working 9 to 5, eating, sleeping, working, eating, sleeping. etc (live to eat, not eat to live and all that stuff).
In short, this song (to me) is about waking up depressed with how standard your life is.
