Don't follow the crowd. Don't follow all the trends. Be your own person. Most of the trends and being in the 'in-crowd' is over-rated.
i think it's about how people think love is just absolutely amazing, where it'll suddenly make everything make sense. and she's saying, love isn't all it's cracked up to be. it's a rush at first, but then it hurts and you'll just want to stop ('you'll love to love and then you'll hate it'). she says that love is overrated, so don't give into it because it comes and goes ('i've watched it fade, so please don't give in').
