Bad Liar Lyrics
I told you everything was fine
But, you called bullshit
It's not worth money if your heart just isn't in it
You've got a sharp mind
But, I'm a bad liar
Nothing I can do to dispose you
Bottle it up
It takes the bottle to get it out
So many pieces of broken glass, razors
You've got a sharp tongue
But, I'm not a bad guy
I wouldn't try to fuck you over
You can't tell me in the south seas
That I'm missing out
You don't know me
We have hardly any common ground
Let's call it off
Let's take the memories and run
I'll be the villian
The man with the smoking gun
I guess this is goodbye
So have a nice life
I'll see you at the replay lounge.
But, you called bullshit
It's not worth money if your heart just isn't in it
You've got a sharp mind
But, I'm a bad liar
Nothing I can do to dispose you
It takes the bottle to get it out
So many pieces of broken glass, razors
You've got a sharp tongue
But, I'm not a bad guy
I wouldn't try to fuck you over
That I'm missing out
You don't know me
We have hardly any common ground
Let's take the memories and run
I'll be the villian
The man with the smoking gun
I guess this is goodbye
So have a nice life
I'll see you at the replay lounge.

this is my favorite song on the new cd. its kind of bittersweet because of the meaning. its about the internal problems in the get up kids.
matt and the rest of the guys didnt get along unless alcohol was involved. (bottle it up it takes a bottle to get it out). they felt it wasnt right to keep something going if they didn't really care about it. (its not worth money if your heart just isnt in it). so they decided to cut their losses and realize when a good thing is gone. (lets call it off, take the memories and run). I read an interview with matt pryor and he explained this.
Awesome song, very catchy. CloseToHome10 pretty much summed it up very well.
I think it's "That's hardly a new disclosure" instead of "Nothing I can do to dispose you" and "razor wit" instead of "razors".
I think it also is about how they'd still end up seeing each other and hanging out outside the band as I'm from Lawrence, KS and I've gone to a number of TGUK side project shows and there's usually some other member of TGUK in the audience. Plus they mentioned the Replay Lounge (a local venue) which was awesome since it's where I first saw the New Ams and they played this one.
