Loyalty Song Lyrics

Ah, tell me
What did I dream?
Cause nothing's as it seems
On the way back down, for me

What did I dream?
Cause nothing's as it seems
On the way back round, for me

Nothing's gonna keep me from my
What did I dream?
No one's gonna keep me from my
What did I dream?

We're on the one road
Maybe the wrong road
It's the road to fuck knows where
We're on the one road
Maybe the wrong road
But we're together now so I don't care

Nothing's gonna keep me from my
What did I dream?
No one's gonna keep me from my
No one'll fucking keep me from my
No one's gonna keep me from my
What did I dream?

And if I confide in you today
I know you don't believe a single word I say
I found solace in the flood
And everybody knew that I would
Cause I'm alright
And there's a slight crack in my chimney

So tell me
What did I dream? [x3]
Nothing's as it seems
On the way back round for me

What did I? [x3]
What did I dream?

haha I don't have any idea of what this song could mean... maybe he doesn't remember anything cause he takes drugs.... but as I said I dunno

Well...Pete Doherty is out of his fucking mind.

Now that I've gotten that through, this song's really good, proves that no matter how baked he is, he can still write memorable songs! But, Jesus Christ, seriously, he needs to lay off that stuff...I mean, in magazines, like every week, "Pete Doherty caught white-handed in drug scandal!!!"

I thnk this song is very much about Doherty's relationship with his drugs and possible his own realisation, or rather admittance, that it's going to be one hell of a struggle for anyone to get him to give them up:

"nothing's gonna keep me from my What did I dream"

the second verse is about Him confiding in his cocaine/heroin/marijuana etc... and despite him putting all his trust in it, finding solace in it's flood, it won't do him any other good.

"And there's a slight crack in my chimney"

this bit reminds me of the whole child chimney sweep in london in victorian times bit. like, its very english. i cant explain! but i dont think its anything to do with that :)

this song really reminds me of the drug dxm everything when you're on it, feels like a dream and when I heard this song, everything just connected and I felt like I knew exactly what Peter was thinking when he wrote this song I know he probably didn't do dxm but it was definately a similar drug
