Color Me Impressed Lyrics

Everybody at your party
They don't look depressed
Everybody dressin' funny
Color me impressed

Stayin' out late tonight
Won't be gettin' any sleep
Givin' out their word
Cause that's all that they won't keep

Put the party on the mirror
Oh shit, pass the bill to Chris
Intoxicated lover ending our french kiss

Can you stand me on my feet? (2x)

(Everybody) (many x)

Everybody at your party
They don't look depressed
And everybody's dressin' funny
Color me impressed

Color me impressed (4x)
I call it out (?)

I disagree with your theory because the Mats had a very public andbad reputation for substance and alcohol abuse. Furthermore, Paul or the persona of the song is encouraging the sharing of cocaine: "Put the party on the mirror / Oh shit, pass the bill to Chris" - presumably that is referring to drummer Chris Mars.

Having said all that, I don't really know what this song is about, other than people having a great party with drugs and booze.

I always took this song to be making fun of trendinistas like the Goth kids. Hence the line Evebbody's dressing funny. Oh well, great song regardless.

I think this song is looking down upon parties with a lot of drug/alcohol abuse. That's how I've always taken it.

I always got the feeling that Paul purposely sings this in a bland, unhappy voice. Like, "Oh, look, I'm at a party. Color me impressed."

It's "Cut the monkey on the mirror.'

THANK YOU! for pointing out the correct lyrics to the song. What the hell — people can't listen to the song and hear that it doesn't say "Put the party on the mirror"? Obviously they don't know about the 'Mats legendary cocaine use back in the day, and don't know the terminology. Should this be changed?
