Milkcrates Lyrics
It's about 40 miles but I think these skinny tires are big enough
To make me big enough and that's where I want to go
Where do you wanna go?
Memorized your telephone number
Met me on the back porch, you know the perfect place to go
Where we can both feel at home
And it's so hard to feel at home sometimes
The sky's electric tonight and I'm afraid if I turn around
It'll lose it's charge. Just keep pointing up to the sky.
Believe me, it means so much that I got this far.
I guess there's something about milkcrates,
When you stand on them you feel ten feet tall
And I can almost see your house
So keep your front porch light on.
To make me big enough and that's where I want to go
Where do you wanna go?
Memorized your telephone number
Met me on the back porch, you know the perfect place to go
Where we can both feel at home
And it's so hard to feel at home sometimes
It'll lose it's charge. Just keep pointing up to the sky.
Believe me, it means so much that I got this far.
When you stand on them you feel ten feet tall
And I can almost see your house
So keep your front porch light on.

Maybe it's about meeting a special person wich you do not meet to often because you are living somewhere else? Perhaps a "went away to college" story? Or a "went away to new york" story? Or a "i became a different person and you didn't follow" story?
I think it has to do with anxiety and kind of the unsureness of growing up. It's like how they are both kind of relying on each other to find that comfort that they are missing because they don't feel secure in their direction in life or as people just yet. I agree with though, it could be that strange in between that is college.
