Outro With Bees Lyrics
How's hope feeling today?
Tired and sick of this place
Red wine is fast
At the lip of your glass
Saying I'm going to ruin
Everything
Everything
So it's better, my sweet
That we hover like bees
'Cause there's no sure footing
No love, I believe
Tired and sick of this place
At the lip of your glass
Saying I'm going to ruin
Everything
Everything
That we hover like bees
'Cause there's no sure footing
No love, I believe

Love this song - especially the bonus version at the end of Blacklisted CD. Only complaint -- it rips your heart out and then ends, too, too soon. On the other hand, I don't know anyone else who can build such a deep feeling in such a short time. Not just her voice -- the writing is a co-equal force.
i'm not sure why, but every time she says, "...saying i'm going to ruin... everything, everything," i seem to find myself with an strange grin on my face. i think it's that kind of semi-sinister, somewhat enjoyable expression that can only come with a certain intimate understanding of that self-destructive place within. perhaps it's sort of an embrace, even.
there aren't that many songs that i love as much as this one.
This'll sound weird... but I really think she sounds like Judy Garland on the bonus track version of this. Just saying.
This is one of my favorite songs of hers. I agree that it's tantalizingly short and she has a few like this where she gets her point across in only a few lines, it's becoming one of her trademarks. I always thought that this song was about her letting a lover know that there's no hope for a relationship, so it's better to just move on and keep hovering - until you find that perfect flower. But knowing her it's probably about something completely different :)
Bees hover from flower to flower. They don't find one that's the most beautiful and stick with it just because why not. "They" are saying it aloud, something's gonna end it one day, what's the point. Love is made up. It's so sad when you secretly hope that it's there. Maybe. Best song there is.
