My opinion...
.3 = 3/10 3/10 = 3:10 as in 2 Peter 3:10
Look it up. It's about holocaust.

About the relation to Strip the Soul...
These songs certainly fit together well. They are performed together in the live video "Anesthesize," and it is really amazing to hear.
This song is about war. .3 probably stands for World War III.
They fit together quite well actually, there is some time after Strip the Soul where the structure evolves to .3.
Just get a torrent of Out Absentia to hear it.
does anyone else hearnhim saying "welcome home" in the background? that makes it feel like whatever war is going on is coming to an end.
and the first time I listened to this cd, when I heard "Strip the Soul" I thought the cd had somehow repeated this track. they just sound so alike, I can definately see them as having been once one track. if that were the case, I'd definately have to go with the blood alcohol/ internal conflict theory.
Strip the Soul and 3 definitely go together. The bass line is virtually the same.
Ha, I actually thought it was: Like the sky, love is blind. Way off.
I originilly thought the title referred to the calibre of a gun as well. How people name weaponry by a number to cover up the monstrosity of what it actually does and remove any emotional reaction from the name.
Fun fact: this was originally part of Strip the Soul, but it was separated because Strip the Soul was 16 minutes and I guess the record company didn't like that.
.3, or World War v3.0. Steve Wilson is the master of clever, subtle meaning, it's what intrigues me so much about PT. Is there something subliminal or subsonic in their music? I can't listen to anything else, and I never tire of them. All other music just seems irrelevant. Maybe some govt conspiracy? Snoogie
or actually, assuming again they were once one song, it could maybe be about a soldier who had survived horrific experiences of war, started or returned to his family, and just snapped...
