Hot Child In The City Lyrics
Danger in the shape of something wild
Stranger dressed in black, she's a hungry child
No one knows who she is or what her name is
I don't know where she came from or what her game is
Hot child in the city
Hot child in the city
Runnin' wild and looking pretty
Hot child in the city
So young to be loose and on her own
Young boys, they all want to take her home
And when she comes downtown
The boys all stop and stare
When she comes downtown
She walks like she just don't care, yeah
Hot child in the city
Hot child in the city
Runnin' wild and looking pretty
Yeah
Hot child in the city
Come on down to my place, baby
We'll talk about love
Come on down to my place, woman
We'll make love
Hot child in the city
(Hot child in the city)
She's kinda dangerous
(Hot child in the city)
Young child
(Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty)
Young child, runnin' wild
(Hot child in the city)
Hot child in the city

Actually you're all right. Except you, sir, in saying the other 2 are wrong. Direct quote from Nick Gilder himself: "I've seen a lot of young girls, 15 and 16, walking down Hollywood Boulevard with their pimps. Their home environment drove them to distraction so they ran away, only to be trapped by something even worse. It hurts to see that so I tried writing from the perspective of a lecher — in the guise of an innocent pop song." Both runaways & prositution....poor girls
i think its about a girl all on her own. i imagine like a teenager. alone in the city
I heard that this song is about a young runaway that the singer wants to pick up. It's kind of creepy, but I love the song.
No your both wrong its a known fact that the song is about a young child as a hooker in the city. and all the guys want her because she is so young.

Good song. And except for high priced call girls, women/girls do not consciously choose to be prostitutes. No emotionally healthy young girl's dream is to grow up to be a prostitute (and who is usually on drugs to dull the pain of the "job"). In the 80's at least, the stats on the number of prostitutes who had been previously sexually molested by dads; uncles; grandfathers; family friends; and mothers' boyfriends was staggering. Prostitution is first an escape. Then it becomes a lifeline due to drug/alcohol addictions and the lack of a good support system on which to return. Without...

Prostitution is first an escape. Then it becomes a lifeline due to drug/alcohol addictions and the lack of a good support system on which to return. Without education and job skills (and with an addicition) getting out of the business is nearly impossible. Sorry, but this topic is near and dear to my heart...
I think it is about a guy that is desperate to get laid and luckily, he has met a rather easy lady that will gladly fulfill his needs.
