What I love about this song is how the music and the surfing metaphor in the lyrics and the implicit meaning of the lyrics all go together. I LOVE the (mostly instrumental) part after the bridge, which is very subdued and the sounds are all soft -- because the perfect wave has come and you've ridden it, and now you're under water for a moment! Then you break through the surface, and the regular rock beat of the song returns. Brilliant.

this song is so amazing. and i love the way the whave (welle) is related to the events that come to face you waiting for you to move. and the whole bridge is amazing. stellst sich in sturm und schreit 'ich bin hier, ich bin frei' alles was ich will ist zeit. :)

"siehst dein Leben wie einen Film" (You see your life like a movie)
is indeed some metapher, but not primarily a sports metapher??
