Manic Star Lyrics
One day is one day less to live
I want you to be my sedative
Sometimes when I drive my car
I feel trapped like a bee inside a jar
Grains of sand is all we are
Crawling on our manic star
One tiny person in one shiny car
Spinning on our manic star
Time doesn't stand for anyone
It doesn't matter what you've done
I want to lose myself in you
Are you afraid of dying too?
Grains of sand is all we are
Crawling on our manic star
One tiny person in one shiny car
Calling from our manic star
Let's love like there is no tomorrow
Shelter each other from the pain and sorrow
Manic star
Manic star
Grains of sand is all we are
Crawling on our manic star
One tiny person in one shiny car
Don't know how I got this scar
Crawling on our manic star
On a ride that leads so far
Hanging on our manic star
Spinning on the manic star
Coming from a manic star
I want you to be my sedative
Sometimes when I drive my car
I feel trapped like a bee inside a jar
Crawling on our manic star
One tiny person in one shiny car
Spinning on our manic star
It doesn't matter what you've done
I want to lose myself in you
Are you afraid of dying too?
Crawling on our manic star
One tiny person in one shiny car
Calling from our manic star
Shelter each other from the pain and sorrow
Crawling on our manic star
One tiny person in one shiny car
Crawling on our manic star
On a ride that leads so far
Hanging on our manic star

This song is basically about a person who is chafing against her mundane life. She's looking for escape through a relationship: "one day is one day less to live/ I want you to be my sedative" and "let's love like there is no tomorrow/ Shelter each other from the pain and sorrow"
She her existence feels a bit useless because the world is so big and evil: "One tiny person in one shiny car/ Spinning on our manic star" (the 'shiny car' could be a statement against materialism)
One part I find interesting is: "Are you afraid of dying, too?" There's a bit of condescension in the singer's voice. It's as if she's saying, every one places too much stock in life. She thinks she's above them because she's not scared.
before she starts singing in english, she says something in another language, but i don't understand her though, it almost sounds indian-ish or something like that
It's actually someone else, singing in arabic. When she says "Are you afraid of dying too?" I thought it sounded like she's saying she's afraid of dying and asking if he is also. Which is why she says one day is one less to live.
