I love this song! You can hear the emotion in charlie's voice. It's so sad! It's about saying goodbye to someone cause they are dying and that you will be with them again someday. but i dont know why its says, "I hope you're both smiling"?? Why both??

Hey, since this song is dedicated to his nan, i take that she died and he says "I hope you're both smiling" cus maybe her husband died before her and this way they get to be together again, and he gets to look after her again. Hence the title of the song! xXx

I think "you get there" means going to heaven. Where everything will be good and Charlie says they will meet eachother there. I think he asks God to carry her.

I read somewhere Charlie's quite religious so I think Charlie's asking God to carry her instead of death itself like BingerBuena said.

just listened to the song for the first time and before I read about the song being dedicated, I kind of picked up that it was about an ex moving on and dating someone else, hence the "I hope you're both smiling"
