A Mind of Metal and Wheels Lyrics
Far beyond there lies the vaudeville where creatures are gathering
The assembly cackle and drool at a land slowly dying
The monologue begins
The man is abandoned
He cracks a lonely smile like an oyster that's been shucked and dead
The company, the red posies they sprang and they whispered
Sweet tragedy
"There's a bird who is broken down
She hunts the soil so her young can feed
But the morning never stays for long
And the flock will starve for needs"
This is the act you see, our seeds were sown in fertile soil
And the crowd all cheered as the men as beasts destroyed the crop and field
Sweet tragedy
The ensemble's tune of wretched abandoned
Where desperate souls
They litter the pavement
Where beasts roam the world
In arrogant fashion
Trampling the harvest and spoiling the soil
The assembly cackle and drool at a land slowly dying
The monologue begins
The man is abandoned
He cracks a lonely smile like an oyster that's been shucked and dead
The company, the red posies they sprang and they whispered
She hunts the soil so her young can feed
But the morning never stays for long
And the flock will starve for needs"
This is the act you see, our seeds were sown in fertile soil
And the crowd all cheered as the men as beasts destroyed the crop and field
Where desperate souls
They litter the pavement
Where beasts roam the world
In arrogant fashion
Trampling the harvest and spoiling the soil

Great song btw.
Lord Of The Rings maybe? "He has a mind of metal and wheels; and he does not care for growing things."
i added these lysrics months ago and they never showed up...i was robbed by songmeanings!
Gatsbys American Dream is the best.
if u look at the correct lyrics it makes much more sense...the person who posted these lyrics really was on acid...
the song is basically saying that while we humans look upon nature as a vicous beast that will kill us if we don't tame it that nature looks upon us in the same way but it is weaker and therefore losing the battle.
the first bit is saying that we're on a stage playing out the same old play (where man triumphs against beast) but this time it is on a smaller scale...only a poor farmer trying to make his way pitted against a bird and her young. the second bit is the play and it's ending. and the last part is saying that we(humans) are the real beasts.
GAD is saying we humans are destroying the world.
I guess human beings are, as the title implies, mindless machines that just destroy and take, like the parasites we are, or can be.
I love Gatsby's American Dream.
The harmony is prettyyyyy.
The Ents gather to discuss whether or not they should concern themselves in the War of the Ring.
I wonder, does anyone know if these lyrics represent some literary work or directly quote any? I know that GAD do that for a few of their songs, including Badlands ("...rise/And creep across the sky/And all night as I fled/You came behind/Eating all the stars" is from Return of the King), and Fable (the lyrics are based off of Lord of the Flies). If it doesn't, then big kudo points on some poetic, original songwriting.
The title is for sure from The Two Towers like was mentioned previously. It goes well with the theme of the song and relates to the book rather well. This may be my favorite song from Volcano as well.
