I Don't Believe In You Lyrics
Now the fun is over
Where do words begin
I'm trying to find the path ahead
Any way you say it
The charade goes on
But your eyes won't see it
It's the same old song
I don't believe you
I don't believe you
Promises so golden
Years have proved them wrong
I'm trying to leave some self respect
Any way you say it
Our decline goes on
But your pride won't heed it
It's the same old song
I don't believe you
I don't believe you
I don't,
I don't believe In you
(Instrumental)
And the way you play it
Is the way you want
Any way you sing it
It's the same old song
I don't believe you
I don't believe you
I don't believe you
Where do words begin
I'm trying to find the path ahead
Any way you say it
The charade goes on
But your eyes won't see it
It's the same old song
I don't believe you
Years have proved them wrong
I'm trying to leave some self respect
Any way you say it
Our decline goes on
But your pride won't heed it
It's the same old song
I don't believe you
I don't believe In you
Is the way you want
Any way you sing it
It's the same old song
I don't believe you
I don't believe you
I don't believe you

Gut-wrenching track
One of those songs that just stay with you: in my humble view, one of their greatest, and that really is saying something. Everything comes together: the arrangement is quite startling, the beat insistent and hypnotic - the lyric and the vocal are out of the top drawer.
What's funny is that they also have a song called "I Believe In You."
The lyrics currently posted are for the song, "I Believe In You" from the 1988 album "Spirit of Eden."
Here are the correct lyrics for "I DON'T Believe In You" from 1986's "The Colour Of Spring":

Does it answer the religious aspect of Happiness Is Easy - I do not believe in God - who cares - Eugenie is so correct about the arrangement - the overwhelming feeling of power from the guitar solo - wow!!!!!!! Breathless
