Pandy Fackler Lyrics
Pandy Fackler was a working girl
Living alone in another world
Of picket fences and a white façade
Sucking dicks under the Promenade
She was almost in a coma - from doing the Bossa Nova
And the Funky Cold Medina - man, I wish you coulda seen her
Poor little Pandy is doing the best she can
Eating cotton candy from the garbage can
First to come and the last to go
I met her backstage after the 2nd show
Two lonely people on a summer night
We weren't in love but it was still alright
I held her close and she squeezed me tight - my Pandy!
[solos]
Living alone in another world
Of picket fences and a white façade
Sucking dicks under the Promenade
And the Funky Cold Medina - man, I wish you coulda seen her
Eating cotton candy from the garbage can
First to come and the last to go
I met her backstage after the 2nd show
We weren't in love but it was still alright
I held her close and she squeezed me tight - my Pandy!

I dunno if stylistically this can be compared to Steely Dan -- not really the same type of jazz influences, but I think there are other relevant comparisons. Let me preface by stating my opinion: Steely Dan is awesome. You could say they were the Ween of their own time -- excellent musicians and biting satire. I find it ironic my dad used to listen to Steely Dan and I'd sing along as a toddler, about pedophiles, prostitutes, heroin addiction, alcoholism...you name it.
Will you one day do the same with your own children, listening to Ween?
I think it's more of a satirical nod to Steely Dan than Ween bashing them.
It's about kittens.
They both said that the song was written about a dream Deaner had about a twisted female who tried really hard but never quite got there.
The title comes from a bootleg tape. Ween have made tapes for their friends over the years, and would label them with the friend's name. They made one for a Randy Fackler, which got bootlegged and ended up online with the typo "Pandy Fackler". They came across this and found it hilarious, so they used the name in a song.
This song is great! Yeah, sorry I didn't have anything better to say but I can't believe no one has commented on it.
One of my favorite Ween songs. Is this supposed to be Steeley Dan? Anyway, it's some kind of '70's type Steeley Dan type thing. Great stuff, I love how when they do period songs, they always throw in anachronistic touches, like "Funky Cold Medina". Haha!
definitely steely dan!! i laughed so hard the first time i heard this song because Ween has such an ability to do the bands I hate to a T!
but also a parallel to "Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)" by Looking Glass is undoubtable..
